Hi Ladies!
I was wondering if anyone had any insight on my HCG Levels. I went in for my 4 week 4 day apt to my primary so they could do a pregnancy test so I can get a referral to my obgyn. They did a blood test and said my HCG Levels were 4000. Quite high. My dates are right on because I was keeping a calendar since we were TTC. At 4 weeks your levels should be 5-426. I know that is an average, but 4000 is way more than 400. I was just wondering if anyone had any trouble with levels being crazy since surgery? Maybe they have nothing to do with each other, maybe it is more than one? I called my OB and I already had an apt scheduled for 8 weeks (the first day they would see me) and the nurse put me on hold to talk to the dr when I told her my levels were 4000 and came back on the line and rescheduled for next Thursday which she said was the soonest she could fit me in. Also, since becoming pregnant, my entire body itches and itches so bad and all I want to do is scratch! Any idea? My friend told me she had twins and the hormone levels were so high it made her itch. Thanks laides!

Can't help a lot- just wanted to say good luck! I had twins two months ago, but I have never had my HCG levels checked, so I can't tell you if they were high or not. It could just be you too! AS long as they are not low, my understanding is that they are good. Good luck at your appt- will they do an ultrasound?

My HCG numbers were crazy high, too  with my first pregnancy.... I ended up having identical twin girls. WLS shouldn't effect your HCG numbers.

Don't be surprised if you don't see anything next thursday, it's way too early to see much more than just a gestational sac (or two). If I were you I'd pu**** back to 8 weeks, you'll have a much better chance of seeing a heartbeat and a healthy baby at that point.

Not sure where you found your numbers, but I found this chart of HCG levels- Looks like you're within the normal range.

Normal Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) levels:

0-1 week: 0-50 IU/L
1-2 weeks: 40 – 300
3-4 weeks: 500 – 6,000
1-2 months: 5,000 – 200,000
2-3 months: 10,000 – 100,000
2nd trimester: 3,000 – 50,000
3rd trimester: 1,000 – 50,000
Non-pregnant females: < 5.0
Postmenopausal: < 9.5

Thanks!
What I found for HCG Numbers said that at 4 weeks they should be 5-426 -which makes sense if you miss your period (at 4 weeks) you have to have a 5-50 to show up positive on a pee test and your levels double every 24/48 hours, then at the end of the 4th week they should be around 400. Not 4000. I know levels vary, but it shocked me. I hope they can see something next week. One or two, I will just be excited to see something and have answers.

You can implant anywhere from 3-12+ days. If you implanted just after o your numbers would start to double much sooner. I had crazy high numbers wiyh my son...but only one in there. Good luck.
