First OB Appt

We had our first OB appt today.  The doctor confirmed the pregnancy and the March 18 due date.  We also were shocked because we had our first ultrasound and were able to hear the little heartbeat.  I admit I did cry a little.  I was so afraid I was going to be told I was dreaming or something but it's real.  We are having a baby.  I asked about Gestational Diabetes just because I had it with my first son and I know it's probable to develop it again once you've had it.  My OB is doing the one hour test next Friday.  It's a little early but better to be safe than sorry! 

Next milestone will be the middle of November when we find out if it's a boy or a girl!!!!!  Then it's shopping time. Can't wait!

Congrats on the baby to you guys! I also had my first OB appointment yesterday, but couldn't hear the heartbeat :( I have an ultrasound scheduled in 2 weeks and I'm anxious as all can be! I like you also had that I'm dreaming feeling. I was dreading my first appointment because I was so scared that they were going to say something like "Sorry, you're not pregnant, but here's the problem..." I fretted for days before, but after getting another confirmation from my Nurse Practicioner and her giving me a very reassuring "you ARE pregnant" talk, I'm finally starting to believe it. 12 more days and I think I'll be a watery mess cus I haven't allowed myself to cry just yet- this is my first time! The best part is that my husband won't be able to get off work to go with me, but his parents will be in town, so my mother-in-law will be going with me to the ultrasound. :) My in-laws are wonderful and they're just as excited as we are, so it couldn't have worked out any better!!

Best wishes for a uneventful and happy pregnancy...looks like we'll probably be due around the same time, but I don't have a suspected due date just yet :(
