McKenzey Hazelee birth story
I have been meaning to put McKenzey's birth story on here, but things have been crazy.
We went last Monday, July 26, to be induced. When we got there, they said I hadn't dialated enough to really do anything so they started me on Misoproxil (?). I took 2 pills every 4 hours all day on Monday. On Tuesday, around 7am they started me on Pitocin. Things were going pretty good and they turned it up. Things continued good for a little bit, then baby girl's heartrate started declining. The nurses came in, put me on my side and on oxygen and turned the Pitocin off for about 45 minutes. Her heart rate went up immediately. After 30-45 minutes, they started the Pitocin again and took me off the oxygen. They said if it happened again, we would have to discuss a c-section. They felt she was playing and grabbed the cord. Nothing to worry about. They turned the Pitocin up a couple times and let me sit up. Her heartrate started declining again. The nurses ran in and started the same procedure as before, but her heart rate didn't increase as quickly so they were putting me on all fours. In the meantime, they had me on oxygen, the Pitocin off and the dr. called. They got her heartrate normal again and they let me get down on my side. Everything was a blur. I went into instant shakes. I was a nervous wreck. They had decided a c-section was necessary. When the dr pulled her out, he said she had a body cord. She had moved and played enough that she had the cord wrapped around her body. Luckily, it hadn't gone around her neck. So on July 27, 2010 at 11:36am McKenzey Hazelee Arthur was born weighing in at 6 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long. She is perfect, at least in our eyes. I look at her and could cry because she is my miracle. I thank God everyday for her and try not to take her for granted. I am just as thankful for my dr because from the time her heartrate went down the second time until she was born only 36 minutes passed. He didn't waste anytime. I feel like if it wasn't for him I may not have my precious gift. Life is great!!! Good luck to those preparing for their deliveries. I pray you don't have the same experiences I had. I had a good outcome, but the fear you go through is horrible. I would put her pic up, but don't know how. Good luck and God bless you all!!!
