I'm a big time stomach sleeper and finding sleeping on my side to be a miserable task. I have many sleepless nights trying not to sleep on my belly. If you too are a stomach sleeper when did you stop sleeping on your belly while pregnant?

My OB told me to sleep whichever way I was comfortable and that I would  become uncomfortable long before there was any risk to myself or the baby.

I slept on my tummy or partially on my tummy for quite a while.

I think I stopped at 5 months. Do you have a body pillow?

I also remember late in the pregnancy, the Dr said try and avoid sleeping on your back because the baby puts pressure on your liver and other organs. They said side was best. Check out the new pregnancy pillows. But I'm sure all dr's have different opinions :)

I stopped at about 4 mos. but I used the adult sized Boppy pillow which is awesome! It ended a lot of the back pain I had too.

I don't remember exactly when I stop, but I believe it was when I actually got a belly and it became uncomfortable.  After that, I would sleep on my side but kinda lean into my pregnancy boppy pillow.  It was like sleeping at a 45 degree angle on my side versus a 90 degree angle.  I found that to be more comfortable.

Hang in there!

I feel your pain!  I'm a stomach sleeper as well, and it was really hard for me to transition.  They say that sleeping on your left side is best, but I have a lap-band, and my port is on the left side!  So when I lay on that side, it feels like I'm layiing on a rock all night, LOL!

It took a while, but I finally got used to sleeping on my right side.  I don't have a maternity pillow, but I have several pillows on my bed, so I just use those.  I put one behind my back, one in front of my stomach, and one between my legs.  Ha!  Some nights, I sleep on my stomach, but I'm sure that once I really start to get big, that's going to be impossible! :)

I totally understand. I am TOTALLY a tummy sleeper. And let me tell you, the first time I was able to sleep on my tummy after Rory was born was HEAVEN! I think I tried to train myself not to sleep on my belly right away but you don't have to. I just knew it was going to be a hard transition so I started "practicing" as soon as I found out I was pregnant. The body pillow was my savior, you should totally get one.
