Alternative delivery

I had RNY 2.5 years ago, will be 3 years out before TTC.  Any RNYers have their babies in a birthing center or by a mid-wife?  Or has everyone done it traditionally in a hospital due to risks.  Just trying to get ideas and plan.

I would go with something alternative.  I went to a hospital and was told I had all these complications that was caused by the dr's and nurses and I ended up with a c-section.  wish I would have went with a birthing center.  as long as you are not high risk with any other problems there's no reason you cant.

as long as your pregnancy is healthy you are fine to have a birthing center birth.. my daughter was delivered by a mid-wife... very relaxing... however i was in a hospital... i was high risk... the good news is.. rny will NOT make you high risk.. my next delivery i would like a home birth

I'm not a RNYer but I have a malabsorptive surgery too, and I'm going with nurse-midwives.  I'd love a birth center but I'm a slightly complicated case (NOT due to WLS - I am a VBAC and had high blood pressure in my prior pregnancy) so I'm sticking in the hospital.  But I've seen women on this site who have had homebirths and birth center births and if that's what you want, go for it!  I wish I had done it the first time around.
