Alright ladies... I am only 4 months out from the sleeve... I have only lost about 60 lbs.  I should have started my period around the 15th and didnt..  So far since surgery I havent been irregular at all.  So last night I took a pregnancy test which showed positive... Then this morning I took another and it showed negative.. WTF?  Have any of you had a positive then a negative??  I am planning on taking another test as soon as I can pee....  uggggggg  Not knowing is sooo stressfull...

Save the test and take it first thing tomorrow morning with your first morning urine. That way the HCG (pregnancy hormone) will be the most concentrated and you'll get an accurate result.

It's rare to get a false positive, but early on it's not uncommon to get a false negative.

There are several women here who had surprise pregnancies soon after surgery and go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. If you are pregnant, let your WLS surgeon know ASAP and look into an OB or MW who is knowlegable about WLS.

Goodluck!

I am 2 years out of my RNY and had NO plans on having a 2nd child...in fact we went thru fertility to have my 1st and my hubby was told it was impossible to have a child due to cancer he had....but with the fertility, it worked. Now after I lost all that weight, somehow I got pregnant.....and my dtr is 6!!! I get it about starting over again...UGH!!

Congratulations to you!!  I am only a year out of RNY and I am no where near goal.  This pregnancy was not planned either.  I was on birth control pills.  But I am very happy about this.  I too am basically starting over.  My daughter is 11.  She will be almost 12 1/2 when this baby is born.  I'm alittle freaked out about that but she is happy.

I don't know.. I can't say I am happy about this at all.. I was just starting to kinda like my body.. being smaller... wearing cute clothes etc etc.... I am not looking forward to the sleepless nights, the diapers, the crying, the engorged breasts....  I had gestational diabeties with my last pregnancy so I wonder if I will have it with this one as well... Maybe not since i'm smaller but then again.... maybe I will.... All around I'm just not really happy about it... Hubby is still kinda on the fence I think... My oldest son who is 12 wasn't real thrilled, my 10 year old daughter was excited and my 4 year old doesnt really get it....  I'm also not looking forward to ANOTHER c-section.... I didn't keep any baby stuff because I was done with my last daughter... Now I have to buy a bunch of baby stuff.... uggggggg  Maybe I shouldnt complain.. I know there are many people who would give anything to have a baby and for that I feel ashamed for not being excited... It's just.. I don't know.... I'm just tired... lol

Chill out.  I mean it in the kindest way.  But you are stressing out already.  I know what it is like starting all over.  My daughter was 13 when my next baby was born.  Talk about starting over. lol  I have a total of three baby boys right now.  I had them back to back.  I wasn't ready for them and they were all c sections and not planned at all.  I did not gain that much weight with any of them and I never wore maternaity clothes either.  Just went up two sizes.  The only bad thing for me is now I have to get my tubes tied.  I was told I would die and so would the child if I got pregnant again.  My lining is to thin now and I almost lost my last one because of it.

I can understand that it's a shock so don't feel ashamed.  I think things happen for a reason and  I hope that things get easier for you.  I am totally with you on the baby stuff.  Since my daughter is almost 12, I have nothing.  But my fiance and I have decided that at first we are buying as little as possible.  We both remember the basic stuff that we used with previous kids.  Stroller/car seat combo, bassinet for our room, bouncy seat, and clothes are basically all that we are buying.  I am sure that my mother will go nuts though.  She's wanted another grandchild for ever.  Keep your head up and try to look at the good things.
