What does it feel like when you ovulate?
I am 2 1/2 weeks post op from my revision from band to sleeve. I started spotting 2 days after my surgery and officially started my period on 10/23. That puts me at CD 14 today. My last period before this one was in May.
I am not trying to get pregnant at this time, but I am really wanting to learn about my cycle and hopefully watch it become more normal! I have PCOS and am fairly certain it is weight related. When I am thinner, I have more regular periods. I am eager to find out when I start ovulating. I don't know if it will happen this month or not, but I sure want to know if it does! I don't know how long my cycle length is etc. because I usually only get a couple periods per year. Right now I am using cheap olvulation sticks that I bought online. I started testing on CD 10. I have not gotten a positive result yet.
I am wondering, aside from testing, do women get symptoms where they feel that they are ovulating? Like cramping etc? I do feel a bit crampy today. I really want to learn my body's ques.
Thanks ladies!
Nikki

First, I want to mention that the couple months out of surgery, a lot of women have strange periods due to the anestesia and stress of the operation. It is best to keep a calander and mark the beginning and end of each period. I just read somewhere that your most fertile time (if your periods are regular) is about 14 days after your period begins.
If you are not looking to get pregnant right away, be careful with those ovulation predictors. They are really expensive and I am the first to admit that peeing on sticks can become addicting if you are anxious for a certain answer.

Thanks for the reply Chelle. I also thought I might have some irregular cycles the first few months after surgery. I won't be too freaked out if thats the case. I just read about so many people who couldn't get preggo because of PCOS, who accidentially get pregnant just months after surgery... so obviously things start working again fairly soon for some people.
I am really dying to know if and when I start ovulating. It will be a big releif and knowing my cycle will help me greatly when I do TTC. It would also be helpful to know in case I continue to struggle with infertility even after I lose the weight.
I bought the ovulation tests online to make it cheaper. I also bought a clear blue digital ovulation predictor that I haven't opened yet. I wasn't planning on using it until I was getting a period regularly. I think it costs $30 or so per month for the test strips. In my oppinion, that is a super small price to pay for knowledge and hopefully some peace of mind. :)
