Ok...my husbands mom died very tragically in a fire when he was 11..so when we had my daughter, we named her abagail June..June was his moms name.  He just told me that he wants to name this baby June Marie...that was his moms exact name.  Do you think it would take away from abby?  What do you guys think?  You always have great thoughts!  Monica

I couldn't name my child after a deceased relative... I mean, not their EXACT name. I don't really have any recommendations for you, though!

I think when you name a child the relative's  EXACT name, it leaves off the individuality of your child.  My husband is a Jr and he has always felt like it was somebody else's name, not just his.  Why couldn't you use Marie for a middle name for this one?  Then both Abby and the new baby would have part of his mom's name.  That would be my suggestion.

Maybe you can suggest that you name number 2 _______ Marie.  That way both kids would have a little piece of his mother but be their own person.  Sisters having the same name, June, is weird to me.

Good Luck
