15 weeks and 4 days too early for gender??

Apparently NOT, because the Ultrasound Technician was very confident when she told us we are having 2 (TWO) GIRLS!!!!!!!!

She printed us pictures and all. I absolutely believe her. I saw the girl parts, and even though I don't know what boy parts looks like on US, I can't imagine what I saw were boy parts. But I have (many) others telling me that it is still early and she could be wrong. We have a level 2 ultrasound scheduled for january 19th to scan for abnormalities and all, in which I will be 18 weeks and 4 days along. I know for sure they will be able to tell me what they are, but like I said, I believe the tech from today. It's 2 girls.

Which brings me to this: Is it bad that I'm actually disappointed that I'm not having at least one boy? When we found out we were having twins, I was surprised enough. My fiancee had his heart set on 2 boys, and me, a boy and a girl. This morning was a HUGE surprise/shock for the both of us. We are both speechless and both kinda feel let down. I am extremely happy that we have two happy healthy babies growing, they measured right on target today, within grams in size of each other. But I really wanted a boy! For about 12 weeks now my fiancee has been convincing me that we were having two boys and I had come to terms with it. Actually, my gut feeling/instinct was that they were both boys as well. So two girls? I don't know if I'm ready for this! I've heard girls are harder to raise than boys. And we are a mixed race couple, and I will have NO IDEA how to do my little girls' hair when it comes time. With boys, it would have been easy enough to just keep it short. But now? Oh my.....please, someone help calm my nerves!

I'm sorry to offend anyone who isn't able to conceive for being upset about the gender. I know a baby is a baby and I should be happy either way (which I am), but I just can't help but to feel a little let down.

Yay!!!  That's awesome!  I had my last US at 15 wks and 5 days, but they couldn't tell.  You could make it look like either one, so we have to wait until Jan 12 to find out for sure!!  I will be 19 wks and 5 days then.  Can't wait!

I have heard that if they say its a boy then it is 100% a boy, but if they say it is a girl then there is always a chance that the genitals just haven't grown enough yet to tell 100%.
As for being upset, I think that is normal.  I have an almost 27 month old girl whom I absolutely adore and love having.  I now have a 2 week old little boy that I was upset about when we found out we were having a boy, back in like June.  I grew up with 3 brothers and was okay with never having a boy.  However, I got use to the fact the I was having a boy and now that he is here I wouldn't change it for the world.  I love him so much and am so glad I have a little boy.  As for boys being easier, I think each kid and gender have their challenges.  My little girl is an absolute sweetheart, but can definitely be mean and throw temper tantrums!  Not sure about my little boy yet, he still sleeps all the time! :)

Dont feel bad for being a bit let down by the gender. I had my first gender determination scan at exactly 16 weeks and was told it was a boy. I literally started crying and was so upset it wasn't a girl. Then I stopped and said, wait I'm not being resonable and I will love this little man with all I got. I came to terms with I was having a boy and was again excited. Then I learned after getting a 2nd opinion scan it wAs actually a girl. Needless to say your reaction to the sex is normal.

I too have an interracial marriage and my son Tyler has the typical biracial curly hair. I had to learn how to deal/maintain that hair but it's something you'll grow to get good at. Don't worry, just google biracial hair and there are many websites that will give you tips on how to maintain it.

Congrats on your baby girls!!!

Lol! I have twin girls growing too. I always wait for a couple ultrasounds to say for sure cause when they look early they can both look about the same. I looked up pics on the net to see too. lol. Its true they can look alike. Not saying your are wrong but yes they can be. I cried with my second son cause I had a son already and I wanted a girl. I really cried for days. Then when I got pregnant last year I told myself she was a boy so I would not be so upset. When they said girl I did not believe it right away. Not till 3rd ultrasound did I believe it at all. Now I have my 13 month old girl and the 2 I have growing now. Just so you know my parents are both white but boy do I not have white hair at all! I have to relax and flat iron my hair to get it to stay straight at all. You will learn how to do their hair for sure

Congrats on your girls! I was convinced that I was having a boy, for no reason other than "mother's intuition." Everyone I knew thought I was having a boy, too. But, I had the ultrasound... twice... and there was no denying that she has girl bits. I was initially in shock. I wasn't upset because she's my first baby and I always knew I would love whatever I was blessed with. It's just funny how you can convince yourself of one thing and be totally wrong. It took me a couple of hours to warm up to the thought of having a daughter. But then I thought of how lucky I am... and that all melted away.

Honestly I had the exact same reaction as you when I found out both my twins were girls (we also found out at their birth that they are identical too!) I was positive I ws having boys.... or at least one boy... but nope. Two princesses.
Now I would never trade them for the world. They are AMAZING.

Goodluck!

At 14 weeks I knew one of my twins were definitely a boy... the other they thought  was a girl at 18 weeks but then looked like a boy later at like 25 weeks... So I thought I had one of each until 25 weeks or so... I was a little disappointed that it wasn't one of each but I am super happy with my lil men... I'd say there is a slim chance things could change but, it's prob. more likely they are both Girls... Congrats!

I'd wait before buying anything pink just yet.  I was told at my 15 week ultrasound that I was having a boy and imagine my surprise when the amnio confirmed she had a vagina.

Good luck and congrats on your twins,

That is really neat.

When I was pregnant with my son we knew he was a boy at 11 weeks. We were seeing a geneticist & neonatologist (sp?) for possible birth defects. When I called my husband to tell him the baby was healthy; I could say "He is okay." We did have to return at 18 weeks too to check renal development, I think. During that 2D scan it will confirm it for you~

Hair, no worries they have plenty of products out now that will help you.

I wonder~ Do woman who had WLS receive more ultrasounds?

Enjoy your journey
