36 week OB appointment

So I haven’t updated in awhile and a lot has happened this past week. I had an ultrasound last Tuesday and Keiran measured in at 7 pounds! I worked as normal that week, but Friday morning I got really dizzy and passed out at work. I had noticed that some dizziness was beginning to creep up on me during the week, but not like that. So I left work Friday morning and put myself on bed rest (which I knew my OB would do, since we went through this before both with this pregnancy and the last) in an attempt to avoid a useless trip to labor and delivery. I called my OB Monday and got an appointment for today at 3pm. So I go in and he says “It's a good thing you're not planning a VBAC anymore. This is one very big baby. Big head, big body... big boy!" Grrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattt! Just what I wanted to hear. We had originally planned to do a VBAC, but around 7 months we found out that I have a hernia in my previous c-section incision and that would have to be repaired shortly after birth and could cause problems during a VBAC. We were planning on DH having a vasectomy anyways, so now we are just having a repeat c-section, tubal, and hernia repair all at once. So anyways… I am showing early signs of Preeclampsia and Positional High blood pressure, which I had at the end with Tristan. So once again, I am off work before I deliver. I would really love to be one of those lucky women who can work up to the end and not pass out at work. I’m not allowed to drive or work, or go anywhere by myself. Joy. I’m on ‘partial’ bed rest. It means that I can do a tiny bit… like an hour or two of very light activity… while keeping in mind my limitations. He said that if he thinks I’m over doing it, he’ll change it to full bed rest or put me in the hospital. But I’ve been through this before with Tristan so he’s trusting me to behave. Way to lay it on thick doc. So I got a circle loom set really cheap and am parked on a mattress in the middle of my living room attempting to make a hat… to keep myself from going crazy. If I can make this work… I’ll post pictures of the hat. :)

Sorry you are going through this!  Better for you and baby though and your almost there.  I am having a really hard time at work right now so if my Dr. took me out I would be ecstatic lol...

Take care of yourself and baby.

Hey Victoria,

Sorry to hear you're on partial bedrest.  Just look at it as the well-deserved rest you need (or will need after the baby is born) tee hee.  Rest up, stay healthy, and in no time your boy will be here.

Many blessings to you and your family over this next month.
