Questions about breastfeeding..?

I BF'ed my first for 13 months. With #2 I had a intestinal infection that I had to go on a super strong antibiotic when he was 8 months old. I was really uncomfortable with this infection, and the problem with the med is that I could not BF on it. Well I had some milk saved up, but not enough for the time I needed to take the med. I ended up switching him to a formula, and he realized it was easier to use the bottle, so when I was done with my med, he didn't want me anymore. I was so torn and depressed because I thought I was a bad mother for not giving him the full year that his sister got. In all reality it didn't effect him. He so far does not act like he is suffering from not getting BF'ed for a whole year. I still feel like I jipped him, but I had to do what I had to do.

I tried to breastfeed my first daughter for 10 days and just couldn't keep it up. My milk never came in at all. I was up pumping and breastfeeding all the time and got nothing so I stopped. 2nd baby, I really was bound and determined to give it more of a shot no matter what it took. I was able to breastfeed her for 2 months. I never could exclusively breastfeed as I don't produce enough. Apparently I don't have enough milk glands, as I was told. I felt horrible for so long about it too, I beat myself up about it. But now I know I did what I needed to do at the time and it's ok. Next baby, I hope to try domperidone to see if that works better for me and if in deed I'll make more milk, but if not, I'm ok with whatever happens.

Same situation here.  With my first I freaked out a bit and gave up BF after about 1 month.   I always regretted it and swore I would be stronger and try much harder with my second baby. 
With Mallory I ended up BF her for the first year and feel great about it!  I have never felt bad for my 1st just mad at myself for not sticking it out.   My first is going to be 4 and is perfectly healthy and happy.  So I just check it off as a learning experience. :)
