Sugar- BEWARE!! Ended up in L&D
Thanks so much! I was befuddled because I could eat them before now and nothing, nada, no reaction....then last night- BOOM!! I will be heeding the dr's advice and avoiding the sweets. As much as I was loving my being able to eat the sweets and not necessarily gain a ton of weight right now, I will skip them altogether from here on out cus that was just horrific!! I'm glad the dr took the chance to hear out my history and knew something about the surgery and it's side effects.
Wow, thank you for sharing this story! Sorry about that and glad you two are okay! I didn't dump before pg either...although I got the sluggish thing too. Now, the least little bit has me panting and laid out on the couch. Even the tiny bit of sugar in my Kashi cereal has me feeling a bit queazy... :(
I thought I had a similar reaction about a month and a half ago, but it wasn't sweets that I was eating and I had the foamies, so I figured I was a mishap and hadn't chewed something up very good and it had indeed gotten stuck. I have episodes with foods getting stuck still, but they're very rare. Before all this, ice cream was the one thing I couldn't go anywhere near because I had tempted the waters a few months post-op and put myself through agony, so I never retried that again. Hopefully, I don't have any more dumping episodes and if someone experiences those symptoms they're able to know what it may be. I was pretty freaked to say the least. I knew it wasn't labor, but something was FAR off.
