Being induced.
I was induced with my son and I don't have any advice - just wanted to say good luck and I hope everything goes great and quick! :) Take it one step at a time. I don't think you can really prepare yourself in any special way - Keep moving around for as long as you can... it really does help as far as pain mangement if you want to try to go drug free... I didn't have the greatest experanice so i'm not gonna go into detail with you on that because you dont need to hear all that.. just remember it's gonna be great and wonderful and you're gonna get your little baby very soon! :)
It's not by choice, that's for sure. I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead and over the past month, I've developed gestational diabetes with blood sugars over 300 and under 40. They put me on Gliburide once a day and that hasn't done anything. They're worried if they leave her in there any longer than Wednesday, she'll be over 10 lbs - she's at 8 lbs now.

Pitocin is the devil. Knowing this can help prepare you mentally to deal with it. With my first I had to be induced due to low fluid, and was over due. With the Pitocin, it was one loooooong contraction, my body could not relax. Eventually they had to give me pain killer and force me to sleep basically, and finally I started to dialate. They threatened c-section twice, but baby's heartrate recovered both times. If I had been able to mentally prepare for the pain involved, and the nature of pitocin I think I would have been able to deal a little better. With my second my water broke at 34 weeks, they stopped labor due to him being breech, but by time I reached level two hospital, he had turned head down and they had to restart with ....pitocin. This time I knew what to expect, and had much better control over my body and allowed it to relax
You aren't the first person to tell me that about Pitocin, which is the main reason I didn't want to be induced :( ...but thank you so much! These are the kinds of stories I wanted to hear - this is my first baby and I am clueless as to what to expect during labor, and that has me more worried than anything.
I have to go in Tuesday night so they can insert something to soften my cervix and I'll be having the kiddo at some point Wednesday. I guess the plan is to start the Pitocin as soon as I'm awake and ready to go.
I've got my fingers crossed that she'll come naturally before then!

Yeah i wasn't trying to scare you, I just know that knowing helped me the second time. It's probably cervadil they will be using, so I hope between now and then she comes on her own :) It will be ok just remember to breathe, and if you need it ask for something to help. It's better to do everything you can to relax, and not fight the "devil" as they say LOL
