Topic: RE: What happened to Cowboy???

Hey T!! I have been inactive for a longtime! Just wanted to say Hello. My Lapband surgery was a fail. My body rejected it and grew scar tissue over and around two ports so it could not be adjusted. I had lost 65 lbs and had to have it removed. Gained it all back, insurance denied any other type of weight loss surgery. Appeal was denied. I just gave up, which is not like me at all!

I have been on a Low Carb Lifestyle with my husband completely on board for two years. I have lost the 65 lbs again!! Still working on the rest and it is slow but not giving up this time. Your recipes have been invaluable to us.

I have missed you and all the other friends here! I noticed you are on Pacific Time are you not still in the VI? Hope you are well!

Topic: Food obsession - think about food - and cook constantly!

Hi all! I've had a DS revision (2015) after RnY (2003) and I can tell you right now, I still constantly think about food. I cook for my family, I cook for coworkers, I cook for my patients, I plan and research recipes all.the.time.

I usually nibble as I'm preparing food, and when it comes to the presentation of the meal, I only have 3-4 bites of my final masterpiece. I do consider my food preparation as my "art" and an expression of who I am. I'm not looking for advice, really. I guess I was just wondering if anyone out there is the same way?

Take care,

Marlena

Topic: RE: Tea Latte - Low Carb Style

Here is my lighter version of vanilla chai as well:

2 tea bags, 1 t cinnamon, 1/2 t ginger, 1/4 t allspice, sprinkle of nutmeg &1 C water.

1 C unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 2 T splenda brown sugar blend, 2 T unsweetened French vanilla creamer. Whipped topping and nutmeg optional on top.

  1. Tea bags, cinn, ginger & allspice in a reusable coffee filter in a pan of the water and brew. (The spices get really thick and gummy like and stopped up my coffee maker after several times so I just use pots in stove and combine at end.
  2. In small saucepan combine almond milk, brown sugar and creamer. Cook and stir over med. heat until heated through and sugar is dissolved. Combine the two pots dollop w/ whipped topping if you choose and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
  3. Makes 2 servings.
  4. Closest thing to DD chai I have found without all the calories.
  5. I make 10 cups at a time and refrigerate it so it's there when I want it. ENJOY!

I have done this and it is good, but...here is another idea that i found. I cut the cheese on top by a bit and then dip into pizza sauce. Even my hubby, who hates zucchini likes this!

I tried it and it was awful. I also tried the one that has two different cheeses, pork rinds, egg I think that one was worse. Im pretty much done trying to make low carb breads lol Good luck

Is that 1/2 cup of milk or 1/2 a soup can of milk?

I use my Instant Pot to make the BEST chicken breast that is moist without adding a coating to the outside.

I place the breast into the pot and make certain that there is low-sodium broth covering the bottom 1/2 of the chicken and then make it according to the instructions (I think it is like 8 or 12 minutes for boneless chicken breasts. The meat is so tender and juicy and can then be used any way you like, without having to add extra ingredients to help cover dryness. Love it! best decision I ever made.
