When was the last time you lost 15 pounds in less than 1 month? Focus on moving and sipping fluid and protein.  The weight will evaporate before you know it.

you had rny 4/2? you are probably very swollen and retaining fluid. your body needs to heal from the trauma of surgery. give it some time.

People lose at different rates.  You will not lose as quick as others on here, so the best advice I can give you is to not compare yourself with others and don't weigh yourself every day.  You'll only get frustrated.  Also, you may go through stalls where you may go a few weeks without losing weight the next few months while your body is getting adjusted to this change and weight loss.  Just stick with your doctor's plan, you will lose.

It starts immediately, but you MUST give your body time to get rid of the extra fluid from the IVs and the swelling from surgery!  You JUST had surgery.  Did you expect to drop 30 pounds the first week or two?!?  (if so, you are going to need to readjust your expectations.)

Patience, grasshopper!

I am having my husband track my weight.  Honestly, I don't care about the number but know it should be tracked.  I jump on the scale in the morning and he records the number.  I gained 4 pounds the day after surgery and had expected it.  I figure a year from now I will see some major results so during the next 12 months, I am just going to learn how to be good to myself.  If I worry about the pounds daily, it would likely derail me in a major way.

@ Lora love that patience grasshopper I might have to use that with my kiddos!

I agree I have read here over and over weight gain after surgery and finally it will start to come off. you will see it come off trust me....unless the Dr lied and he didn't do the surgery ;-)

The honeymoon phase starts when you have surgery.  You're in it.  When you say "see it come off really quick," what does that mean to you?  Like losing a pound a day, every day?  More than a pound a day?  'Cause, well, that usually never happens!  Some people average a pound a day for a little while, though many don't, but even that isn't every day.  People sometimes have days or even weeks that they do not lose anything, and that is during the honeymoon period.

Okay,  try to remember what it was like when you had your first surgery!!.  You were pumped full of fluid then too.  it can take your body 7-10 days to get rid of all that excess fluid.

When I had my revision I lost 2-3 pounds/week.  I did not drop drastically.  Be patient with yourself.  This is your second chance.  Follow your dietary guidelines to a T and get out and move, exercise every day.  Even for 10-15 minutes!!  With revisions it is important to use your first 6 months to a year wisely.

Be patient with yourself.
