Happy Friday Gang!!! Today and tomorrow are going to be potential record-breaking cold conditions. I had to get boots for Meisha yesterday because the cold was just too much for her feet. She is none too happy about them but realizes that her feet don't hurt when she's out in the cold. A little good news about the weekend it looks like the snowstorm is going to miss us and stay out to sea.
I never told you all that Irvin and I went to this very amazing herb store on Saturday to get some Blue Lotus flowers that the shoppe owner had ordered for us. The little store had so much stuff I could have spent hours in there looking at everything. We ended up spending a little over $100 on four different kinds of teas, Lions Mane mushroom powder, dried elderberries, Goji berries, Hogwarts smudge stick, crystalized ginger, Korintje cinnamon, Super greens powder and 5 bags of Blue Lotus flowers. She had stuff that I've never even been able to find online. We will definitely be going back. I currently have some of the Blue Lotus infusing in some white wine. In ancient Egyptian time Blue Lotus was found to have several medicinal properties and is still used today like helping with anti-inflammation, better sleep, and immune issues. I'll let you know how things go in a couple of weeks when its ready.
QOTD: For those of you who cook your own meals do you use herbs and spices? Many of you who have been around for a while know that I grow several different herbs along with garlic. I love to explore and experiment with different flavors and will find natural herbs or spices that will give a sweet or salty or even spicy taste flavor to a dish.
B: coffee with collagen
L: meatballs with sauce
D: baked sole with spinach
We braved the cold last night and went to the Y for a yoga class and tonight we will do our weight circuit.
Have a great day and weekend everyone!!!
There is no embarrassment to starting slow you are taking the steps you need to be healthy. Everything starts with baby steps to eventually reach the goal that you want. Yes, there will be ups and downs, but in order to get where you want to be you have to start somewhere even if it is a slow start.
I'm currently at 488 lbs, and I'm looking for anyone else in the 400 plus lbs category. Being this close to 500 is a wake-up call I can't ignore anymore.
"Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope you are all doing well and having a productive day. I'm spending my day staying warm, catching up on housework, and heading to the store. I'm also doing some deep dive research into which weight loss surgery options would be the best fit for my health goals.
Today's Menu:
Breakfast: Savory Cottage Cheese Bowl
Lunch: Mediterranean Chicken Quinoa Salad
Dinner: Turkey Chili
Good Thursday Morning Gang. It's even colder this morning and by the weekend is supposed to be -20 but there is a possibility of us missing the other snowstorm that might hit on Sunday. I really do hope it stays out to sea.
I have to run a few errands for work this morning which I honestly don't want to do only because it is cold. The second water testing training is going on for a few hours and then there is just ice/cold prep stuff going on. I do have to do the weekly haz waste inspection which only takes about 15 minutes.
QOTD: I'll have to circle back for a question.
B: coffee with collagen
L: Turkey soup
D: left over pork loaf
Not sure if we are going to the Y tonight with the weather being in the negative numbers.
Have a great day everyone.
For those who had a high starting weight: How did you handle the 'embarrassment' of starting slow? I want to run the basketball court one day, but I'm starting with baby steps."

Good mornin y'all.
i have an appointment with my mental health NP and case manager. That's all that's set in stone. Oh and we'll pay the taxes on the house today...all half of it. Half of it will be paid in March. Thankfully our county does allow that for seniors(my mom).

Happy Hump Day Gang!! Brr it was -1 when I got up this morning. Can't wait until Winter is over and we are potential getting another big storm this Sunday. I have to get my office area set up to start some veggie seeds for the garden this year. I'm making my list of what I want to grow.
Not all that much going on at work except for some reason the UO's are forgetting to tarp the ash trailers and are leaving them outside instead of in the ash storage area. I will have to send out an email regarding it.
QOTD: What is something you've accomplished so far in January? I've gotten better at tracking my foods nutritional values. Not 100%, but about 80%. Baby steps right?

Good afternoon y'all.
I've already had my PT appointment and b-12 shot today. Got groceries and back home.
still pretty icy with the minor roads. Still chilly but supposed to be up to 45°, we'll see about that.
as for the pats...if you can't say something nice don't say it at all...LOL in reality I couldn't care much less than I do about football this season. I actually do like the young QB for the patriots,so I'd rather have em win over the Seahawks.
B: eggs, ricotta, 1 slice of toast and coffee
L: hamburger soup, small applesauce smoothie and crackers with cheese dip.
D: not sure on this one yet.
set of earrings for myself. Present for myself late for Christmas. Then a real pair of Lego crocs.
Organize things and cleaning is what I ended up doing Sunday and Monday.
