Honestly I can't answer your Magnesium question, you'd need a dietician or naturopath for that. Different forms of it target different issues. (heart health, as a sleep aid, etc) My revision to RNY was 19 years ago and I did have a little thinning but it grew back well. It has been an unusual side-effect of anesthesia for me to lose hair after a procedure and it has happened several times since my RNY. It normally grows back with no supplements but this year I've had one sedated and one general anesthesia procedures, lost 70# of regain in 7 months and it is seriously falling out now. Like, you-can-see-my-scalp falling out. I'm back to taking hair growth supplements but hate that because it usually just grows nose, chin, arm and leg hair instead of what should be on my head, lol.
Sorry that wasn't totally helpful. If your insurance would cover it, it would be a good idea for a follow-up visit with your surgeon's dietician or another wls specialized dietician. Wishing you the best of health!

Good mornin y'all.
kind of a busy day here. I have to go to the pt place to see if they'll take my prescription. Hoping like hell they will ss the next place is across town. It's been a rough weekend. I've been bad and used ibuprofen. So going forward no more of that. They also left long trails on the sutures so they stick through my shirt. I am going to have to wear the sling for longer than the minimum. I was told to stop wearing it when it felt ok to do so. I got ahead of myself. It hurt like hell yesterday so back to the dreaded sling.
we're also getting the last of the groceries for Thursday. The only thing we're not getting is the rolls which we'll get at Sam's Wednesday.
QOTD: meh. I'll be glad for it to be over. Some stuff happening with the family has left a layer of smog on my mood. My brothers MIL made my niece Rachel cry for some very VERY unnecessary reasons. Pissed me off. I do not like her.
B: egg pita pocket and coffee.
Good Monday morning gang. What a crazy last three days. We had this insane storm come through with heavy rain and high winds. Ended up losing power at 8am on Friday and just got it back at 3pm yesterday. Then the generator didn't want to work and in the process of trying to get it started it surged the house and blew out the motherboard on the new furnace. So everything I had planned for the weekend was not done. Thankfully I have only 2 1/2 days this week for work and then I'm off for the rest of the year.
I have to call my weight loss center to make an appointment to see if they can change the medication I'm currently taking as I'm at a standstill. While I haven't gained any weight I can't seem to lose any either even if I do one meal a day of high protein.
QOTD: Are you ready for Christmas? I am for the most part. I have to grab a couple of gift cards and finish wrapping some gifts.
B: coffee
L: 2 slices cauliflower pizza
D: Stuffed mushrooms and salad
Hitting the Y and finishing wrapping gifts.
Have a great day everyone!!!
Which Magnesium should I how much? Also, I am 14 years out. Also, my hair started thinning a lot over the past two years. Don't you lose your hair not long after surgery? I never did lose my hair after surgery, but I am doing any and everything I can to thicken my hair. My hair grows long, it's just very thin. I take the required supplements for bariatric patients. I would like to know your opinion about this and advice would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

Good morning y'all.
surgery went ok. It was a rough night as the nerve block isn't lasting as long as they said it would. The hydrocodone isn't touching it. I accidentally took an 800mg ibuprofen. I was discombobulated. My gawd it helped and I so wish I hadn't taken it. My stomach has been upset. I'll stick to the Tylenol 4s. I. Got nauseated at the hospital but it wasn't too bad. They gave me some finnergin.
I had a big 10 minute cry. Very irritated I guess and was unable to take my depression meds. I hate the sling more than any thing. It's making my neck ache. The incision hurts a lot too. They said I bled a lot.
today we have to go to pick up a prescription and Walmart. I want to get out too but it was challenging to get ready lol
QOTD: coffee or spiced chai.
B: egg burrito
thanks for the good thoughts for yesterday!
Good Thursday morning menuer's. I've got all the stuff ready to go for the luncheon today just have to bring it upstairs and set it up. Everyone is really excited.
I have tomorrow off and I'm hoping to go to a small event at a local library that will be doing a presentation on Krampus, Gryla the Christmas witch and the Yule Cat. Should be interesting as it will be talking about the origins of each of them. Depending on the weather tonight I might see if Irvin wants to go to RI and do candlelight shopping in Chepachet.
QOTD: What's your go to holiday drink? Either hot apple cider or a little egg nog depends on the mood I'm in.
B: just coffee this morning
L: all sorts of things from the luncheon. Stuffed sole, cranberry pork loin, steak tips with portabella mushrooms, several different appetizers, side dishes and all sorts of desserts. Should be a fun time.
D: yea probably too full from lunch to eat. LOL
Hitting the Y quick after work.
Have a great day everyone!!!
Happy Hump Day gang!! Halfway through another week. My physical went well yesterday. Today I have to pick up the desserts and tableware for our Christmas Luncheon tomorrow. Other than that, it should be a pretty quiet day.
I made a shrimp gumbo yesterday that came out so tasty. I haven't made one of those in several years and just had a hankering for some Cajuan food.
I'll be thinking about you Mel hoping the surgery goes well today and the ride back home isn't too bad.
QOTD: What holiday food instantly brings back memories? My aunt's coconut custard pie. It was the best I've ever had.
B: coffee and protein shake
L: chili chicken tacos
D: broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breasts
Have a great day everyone!!!
Hi, hope your day is going well and your physical is a good one.
Wishing the best for you Melanie. You do so much for your family, don't let them push you to doing too much during your recovery.
Today I see the plastic surgeon for the last time (I think) to see how my nose is healing. Wish I was seeing him to schedule lipo and skin removal, ha.
Haven't been eating clean but amazingly still losing. The days usually consist of just ho****er for breakfast, a protein drink or bar for lunch, two proteins and a veg for dinner. Then i go off the rails in the evening: dry cereal or a few crackers, a serving of a homemade protein pudding or 1-2 pieces of SF chocolate candy. I'm trying to figure out how to space the Wellbutrin and Naltrexone so that it works better at night.
Still chugging along on Christmas sewing. Batch sewing so most projects are at least 50% done.
QOTD: I did but can't honestly remember when I figured out the truth. Must not have been that big a deal.
Just got a message that the surgeon's office flooded so they had to reschedule. Sorry about their mess but glad to have all this afternoon to sew!
Have a great day everybody.

Good Morning Gang. I'm off today and have a few things to do. One is my yearly physical that's been rescheduled a few times. Then some more Christmas shopping. I have to finish sending out Christmas and Yule cards. We actually slept in late until 7.
Good Luck tomorrow Mel with your surgery. I hope it helps with some of your pain.
QOTD: When you were a kid did you believe in Santa Clause? I did until I was 12 or 13, then one of my sisters told me he wasn't real and that our mom bought the presents.
B: coffee and protein shake
L: not sure will probably grab something while out
D: chicken burgers and toss salad
Hitting the Y tonight.
Have a great day everyone!!
