Hope your Tuesday went much better than your Monday. Does your mom like to thrift for the thrill of the hunt or just the fun of poking through all the possibilities of the treasures there? Merchandise is down at the ones here (and prices are UP) but in January it will swell again when everybody catches the national declutter bug.

Love the photos of your kitty babies. Thank you for sharing them.

Good evening, hope your day stayed quiet and that the Y was a good workout.

We had our daughter and her family over yesterday (finally) for a tree trimming get together. It took all weekend to get the house pared down enough to find room for all of us. Makes me wonder how my grandma hosted three families of her kids, their spouses and the grandchildren all in a teensy little WWII bungalow. I served a loaded baked potato bar and had oodles of sides and blew all caution to the wind w/my food. The things I ate (cauli instead of potato) amounted to around a tablespoon each and then I had a thin slice of chocolate chip cookie pie.

QOTD: Absolutely. Money will always be an issue but there's always the usual stuff like Toys for Tots and the Angel Tree at church, various food drives. At one of Hub's past duty stations the squadrons would each select an anonymous family and put out suggestions for sizes of clothes, interests and ages for toys and we all would contribute and have them wrapped and tagged by the due date. The squadron would provide the holiday meal and since all of us were poor together it was nice to be able to help out as a group.

B: two mugs of ho****er

L: coffee and half a protein bar

S: ho****er and the other half of the bar

D: 3 oz chicken breast and 1/2 cup of FF cottage cheese

It's day 3,847 since Nutritionix went offline for "upgrades" and I'm slogging through without it but should be eating better.

PS: I was so busy this weekend that I forgot my 19 year Surgiversary on Saturday.

Thanks for your reply, hadn't considered those options.

I don't have a referral to a bariatric doctor, but will contact my GP to get a new referral.

Good mornin y'all.

yesterday was rather awful but it is over so on to today.

we've got to get some groceries. My brother and middle nieces birthdays are the 15th and 12th so we're doing a dinner Sunday. Chicken fried steak and chicken sandwiches. So I'll be tired then.

I think my mom's wanting to go by the thrift stores.

QOTD: I have done stuff when able. I had a friend whose husband lost his job right before Christmas. I got their son some gifts and one for each parent. Wasn't a super expensive endeavor but I felt the need to do it and I don't regret it one bit. I love my friends. I also remember a year when some friends made my year for Christmas...I would never ever be a billionaire as I believe in helping my fellow humans. Even if it just a coffee to say you're thought of and such. It just makes me happier to give than receive.

food is unknown at this point.

Good Tuesday Morning Gang. Chilly this morning here in CT and is supposed to get colder by the weekend. We have a small fire fighter class at work today and then getting ready to take boiler 1 down for repairs tomorrow. The rest of the day should be quiet.

I have to call and reschedule an appointment I had to cancel a couple of weeks ago due to things going on at work. I know they probably won't be able to get me in until the new year, but it's nothing urgent.

QOTD: If money wasn't an issue, would you help out a family who fell on hard times during the holidays? While I try and donate a few toys to local businesses; if money wasn't an issue and I had unlimited funds I would 100% help a family out with gifts for everyone and a complete holiday meal. I've seen so many people asking for help and it's rather heartbreaking.

B: coffee and bacon, egg breakfast wrap

L: chicken soup and two ham/cheese/lettuce wraps

D: liver, onions, and mushrooms

Hitting the Y and then going through a couple of totes.

Have a great day everyone!!

Do you have a bariatric doctor you can call? It could be a hernia or a stricture both of those would cause narrowing of the pouch. I would definitely get it checked out.

14 years ago I had RNY surgery. It worked well and everything went smoothly.

However (there's always a however :-)) For the past 3 months I've had trouble eating my normal portion sizes. I'm down to 1/2 to 1/3 normal meal size.

I'm losing weight again (28 lbs) and need to lose it, but it's concerning me.

Is this normal? Or should I be concerned?

Before the surgery I kept putting things off. I was never good enough. One of the benefits of WLS is that you start to believe in yourself. Check out my blog:

Good morning everyone.

i meant to post Friday, even uploaded photos but we had to leave in a hurry because I forgot an appointment. Opps.

today not much is planned. My doctor was out Friday so I should be hearing from his nurse or the Education nurse today some time. My blood sugars are yet again out of whack. I'm hoping he'll prescribe back the long acting insulin. Yes, another shot but it helps a lot. We'll see though...

I am really struggling with depression right now. I see my mental health provider Wednesday but I have little hope for improvement. He will only be my provider this next visit as I'm requesting a change after I have surgery. He just doesn't listen...at all. Blames me for all the meds they've prescribed. Just had enough.

QOTD: a really good spice mix. Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and all. Also just baked goods.

breakfast was an egg pita, the rest is unplanned.

pic dump!

Good Monday Morning Gang. I had a lazy weekend didn't do too much just kind of watched some movies and put up our little Christmas tree. It was too cold out to do anything other than feed critters which were all snug as a bug in a rug.

I have Friday off and I'm hoping this week is quiet at work. I know we are taking boiler 1 down on Wednesday for a quick leak repair, but it shouldn't take very long to fix.

QOTD: What's your favorite holiday smell? Even though I've put an artificial tree the last few years. I do love the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree. Something about it just makes the holiday season seam brighter.

B: coffee and protein shake

L: chili

D: lamb stew

Hitting the Y and then watching some football.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Topic: RE: Finally Friday's Menu

Good afternoon! When we lived in Germany (in the Kaiserslautern area) we never noticed any celebration of Krampusnacht, it was always just St. Nicholas who did the visiting. Now St. Nicholas Day 12/6 (I'm guessing it has started already over there) was a big thing and of course, local shops trying to get parents to buy little gifts for the boots. Perhaps in our little region, Knecht Ruprecht got dropped along the way. Christmas in Germany ruined me for American over-commercialized Christmas and I always tried to keep it festive and kept the kids out of the malls in December. However you celebrate tonight, have fun!

QOTD: Growing up the only other things we celebrated in December were birthdays: my dad and one of my aunts. But in '19 my mom passed on the 8th/9th (presumably 8th but was found on the 9th) so it is a time when I privately celebrate her and just remember the happy times.

Nutritionix is still supposedly upgrading and it has tanked my strict tracking. Undoubtedly my carbs are waaaaay over what my doctor wants but at nearly 7 months in it is normal for the last 20# to be slower anyway. As long as I get them off by next May I'll be happy.

So sorry you have that huge band of really cold temps. Brrr! Your food today sounds warm and comforting. Somewhere on this message board is your chicken loaf recipe, isn't it? I'll have a look or try the web. That must make such a great meal prep protein. Keep warm and snuggly this weekend!
