Good morning all and Happy Hump Day,
I moved Monday and am posting this from my new apt deck, coffee in hand. I'm so grateful to be done with the actual moving part, the last apt and landlord. This was the worst move of my life due to the moving company and my current physical health. Onward and upward from here.
I'm just starting to open boxes and identify what will go where. This is always exciting. My dog seems happy with the new digs.
I'd like to try to post more often but the daily thread isn't always active at the desired time. If no one minds, I'll start the daily post if it's not up yet.

Good Morning Jennifer and Menuers,

I know I will do old fashions for night caps just need something fun I can water down for the beach.

Good morning, everybody!
This week seems to be passing at a fairly brisk pace. Today, I am in the office and Marilyn has tennis tonight, so I'm kind of on my own.
Last fall we bid for a in home dinner party. Our first chef fell through and we have rescheduled to this weekend. Our new chef seems like a Rock Star. She worked at Nobu and is doing a Japanese menu for our guests. We are pairing it with some Burgundy that I picked up Sunday.
But what we have to do now is get the house ready! Marilyn has been cleaning, sending pictures of our kitchen and dishes to the chef and trying to get things organized. I need to pressure wash the siding and mow. It should be a nice night.
QOTD: Have I ever roller skated? I feel like I've done it at rinks, but I'm not sure. I played hockey as a kid (not well), so I pick skating.
Breakfast: potatoes and bacon
Lunch: Stuffed Shells
Dinner: chili
Have a great day, all!

Good mornin y'all.
My myelogram went ok. It was unpleasant to say the least but it's done and I already have the analysis. It is way worse than in was in April of 22' on my last myelogram. Will see when I see my NP needs me to get a copy of the images to drop off for em. I am on bed rest until noon. Which I hate....so much. My neck and shoulder are killin me.
my grandma's first cousin fell this past weekend and broke her arm. It was right at the ball point where it goes into the shoulder. Her kids all have jobs so we volunteered to have her come spend some time with us. We also are the only ones with a walk in shower so my mom is going to help her with that. It's supposed to be in the 100's today with super high humidity...yay.
QOTD: last time I roller skated I fell...a lot and bruised my tailbone. I've never done ice skating.
B: eggs, sausage and cheese with glorious coffee
L: unknown at this time
D: also unknown as i just don't know what we'll be doing.
Happy Hump Day Gang!!! Another muggy, hazy day here in CT. I have some painting to do around the scale house today but have to pre it by sanding with sander I brought in, and they are finally getting rid of the old A/C unit that is on the outside. I had to take some pictures of the front gate to show how over grown it is and it poses a safety hazard if trucks are waiting outside the gate and someone is trying to get around them. You can't see if anyone is leaving the plant.
Other than that not much going on.
QOTD: Ice skating or roller skating? I've done both and actually prefer Ice skating even though it's cold. I had ice skates as a kid/teen and with the pond was always able to go out on it. Never felt safe roller skating.
B: just had a lemon ginger tea not really feeling hungry
L: leftover chicken burger and cucumber/tomato salad
D: Chicken salad stuffed hot pepper
Taking a day off from the Y to do a few things around the house.
Have a great day everyone!!!
I remember many women in the plant where I worked taking their summer off by having some minor surgery done on their feet and then saying it was not healing and staying off wor****il their kids went back to school. One day they made a list of the 100 worst offenders of sick leave in the plant and 20 of them were in my department.
They had a union that backed them and in order to keep the job they had to have worked eight hours during the past 365 days. It was the last work day of the year and I had one guy who had not completed eight hours that year. He came to work that morning. At noon he came to my desk and had only worked four hours. He said, "you will be hearing from my doctor and my lawyer." He left and slammed the door.
Because he had not put in eight hours that year the union could not win his fight to keep his job and he was fired. This was a man in is 40s who was quite healthy.
I was always fascinated by downhill skiing. I love water but never waterskied and not sure why. My brothers had a boat and waterskis but it just seemed like something I would not be safe doing and I jus****ched the kids doing it.
There is a place in Pennsylvania that grows peaches called Chambersburg peaches. The soil there has to do with growing them. They are ripe from now until the end of August and I can't stop eating them. They have smooth skin like a nectarine and so much juice you have to hold a napkin under them to keep it from spilling on the floor.
Your shepherds pie sounds so good with mashed sweet potatoes. For the next few weeks I will eat a lot of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, and corn on the cob. When I was growing up we lived off the garden in hot weather. No air conditioning then but always a great garden so not heating up the oven kept the house a lot cooler.

Good morning, everybody!
I'm back home today. Yesterday was a 7:00 flight and the Triathlon was a 5:00 AM departure on Sunday, so I'm dragging this morning. Fortunately, today is WFH, so I can catch up a bit before I head back into the office on Wednesday and Thursday.
My older son and I are going fishing next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I need to tie some grasshopper flies before I go, so that is on the agenda for tonight.
For the next three weeks I am going to only do one day a week of CrossFit, so that I can concentrate on preparing for the Chicago Triathlon, which is August 24th. It's a little longer distance than I am used to doing.
QOTD: Water Skiing I have only tried once but would like to give it another shot. The last time I went snow skiing, I felt like I was in danger of an injury.
Breakfast: bagel
Lunch: meatballs
Dinner: chili
Have a great day, all!
