One of my cousins is a vet and also has horses. She used to throw a big Kentucky Derby party every year. We dressed up with great hats and had mint julips and other traditional foods. At least 100 people would come. I enjoy watching it. I was just reading that every horse running this year is related to Secretatariat.

Good mornin y'all.

So glad the weekend is over. It was a stressful one. Lots of reasons but that won't change for the foreseeable future. My mom is having side effects from her stroke. It's been over five years but i'm still getting to know the new her. It's stressful. They also denied the cat scan with contrast for my shoulder. They gave 4 reasons all of which I've done. It's mind numbing. I was told by the physical therapist that it wouldn't help if it's a rotator cuff tear. It didn't help. I've been seeing the orthopedic doctor for 4 months(they said I hadn't even been seeing him for 6 weeks). They would prefer an mri which I can't have. It's absolutely asinine.

Today I need to work on chainmaille. We might go over to my aunts house. We're supposed to get rain all day today and tomorrow. We're under a flash flood watch until Wednesday morning. Feast or famine!

My weight is at another stall. All together I've lost 15 pounds in about 4 months. Dissatisfied BUT also grateful. It's a mix.

QOTD: no, I did no****ch. Horse racing isn't my absolute favorite.

B: breakfast sandwich and coffee

L: haven't decided yet

D: chicken with Brie (one of those breast with the filling in it that you get frozen) and carrots that I'm going to roast.

here are some pics I meant to post Friday but never got around to posting at all.

I made this set 10 years ago. I unfortunately can't get these certain jump rings anymore. It's was made for a friend who paid for it.

Good Morning Gang. The weekend wasn't too bad weather wise some rain off and on, but we were able to get a few things done outside. Got the billy goat patches back to my SIL yesterday morning and then I posted some truck stuff on FB for Irvin. He had a Chevy short bed with sidesteps that he didn't need so I posted it and had about 10 people interested. A guy from New York came and got it for $550. Now he has more room on the cement pad to work on one of his Challengers.

Three people called out of work today. More people here call out on a Monday than any other day of the week. Besides our Spring inventory of the warehouse tomorrow the week should be rather quiet.

QOTD: Did anyone watch the Kentucky Derby on Saturday? I had to put a reminder in my phone so I wouldn't miss it. What a sloppy track they had to run on, but Sovereignty beat out the favorite Journalism in the home stretch. It was a really good race.

B: coffee and slice of crustless quiche

L: Leftover pork ribs

D: pork shoulder tacos with cauliflower rice and beans in celebration of Cinco De Mayo

Have a great day everyone!!!

Oh My! I could have written this, myself! In fact, I think I DID! I will have to read back on my profile "novel", starting in late 2001.

My granny was "my person"- hands down! She loved me, unconditionally, no matter how fat I got, how many times I got divorced, etc. She was obese, herself, and always worried about MY health- even though my health stayed pretty good. I had RNY, on 4/22/02. Granny died 10/18/02, so she didn't get to see me reach goal, etc, but, she knew when I hit the Century Club, and she was so excited!!

You keep honoring your grandma! That constant love is better than any cookie or ice cream will ever be!

I used to stock up when I found a good deal. I know the vacuum sealer really kept things in good shape. Always made my own sauces and froze them. Also had fruit for pies and frozen peppers and lots of meats.

My sister got new chickens about a month ago. This week one was missing. She thought a raccoon but could not see anywhere it could get in. Next morning another one was gone. She looked and finally found them under a new feeder. They are all fine now so that was a relief.

Topic: Keep my Promise

This March, I lost my grandma, my rock, and the person who always believe in me, even when I struggled to believe in myself. Her passing has left huge hole in my life, but it's also given me a renewal sense of purpose. My grandma always worried about my health especially my weight. At over 400 lbs, I know I haven't been living the healthy life she wanted for me. So I making a promise to her and myself to change that.

My Promise:

I'm starting this blog to document my Journey. It's not just about losing weight; it's about honoring my grandma's memory and making her proud. I'm taking the difficult but necessary step on pursuing weight loss surgery. It's a tool, a new beginning, and a way for me to take control of my health and future.

The Road Ahead:

This won't be easy. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments when I want to give up. But I'll keep thinking of my grandma, her unwavering love, and the promise i made her. I want to live a long health life.
