I have known a few hoarders. They tell you they paid good money for stuff and can't get rid of it. My brother's wife was a hoarder and he made her keep her hoard in their basement. After she passed away it took him more than a year to clean it out.
My mother went to garage sales and bought things she did not need. At one point she had a bedroom that was too cluttered to open the door. It was seasonal decorations. Christmas, Halloween, Spring, Fall, Winter, flowers, and all kinds of things. We finally put it all in the tra****ry to use the get rid of one thing when I buy something new. Clutter makes me so nervous. I don't want to leave a mess for others to deal with.

Good morning, everyone!
My recollection is that we don't have a lot of sushi lovers on the thread, but our Monday dinner at Nobu was very yum! My favorite was a Yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño and cilantro. Of course, I was tapped out with 3 courses left.
As planned, I stayed in the city Monday night. We have another leadership meeting this morning and then I am just going to head home. It's been a lot and I have more tomorrow.
Marilyn made it to Florida and has most of the truck unloaded. I will head down Thursday night.
QOTD: No, but I've been watching this show called Filthy Fortunes and it has left me wary about leaving a bunch of stuff for my children to deal with.
Breakfast: Bagel
Lunch: Italian Beef
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

Good mornin y'all.
Today looks to be busy. I had to take a flexirell this morning as my back is extra spicy. My mom is wanting to go to Sam's to get an ac unit, they are on sale starting today and it's like 50 bucks off. It would just cost way too much to put in central air. So we're stuck with window units. So we'll be going there. My mom is thinking about going to get some more knives. I don't think we need any. Shrug.
during the whole colonoscopy ordeal my blood sugars went nuts. They are just NOW getting back to better numbers. I cleared out the candy yesterday and gave some to my nieces and nephew(jelly beans...my weakness). I can space out chocolate no problem but jelly bean type stuff is my favorite kind of candy so out it went.
QOTD: my SIL....hands down the worst hoarder I've seen in person. It's horrible.
B: biscuit sandwich and coffee
L: ????
D: burrito lasagna
Happy Hump Day Menuer's. CPR class went well yesterday, and we have a budget meeting later today for next year's budget. Went through another tote downstairs and pulled some Tupperware out that I haven't used in over 15 years, so it looks like it's time to sell it no need to hang on to stuff that I don't use anymore. Still can't believe how much stuff I've collected over the years. Irvin and I made a deal he cleans up the stuff outside and I do the stuff inside. I think I got worst part of the deal because there is a lot of crap in the house. LOL
QOTD: Does anyone know someone who hoards things and doesn't want to get rid of anything? Yes unfortunately I do. One of my sister's has so much stuff in her house that honestly it is a fire hazard. Two of her bedrooms are so full of stuff that you can't even open the doors, but halfway. My mom was like that up until she ended up in hospital back in January. Since she's been home and not working she's actually been going through stuff and either donating it or throwing it away. I've told her that she doesn't have to keep years and years of paid bills.
B: coffee and slice of quiche
L: buffalo chicken salad over garden salad
D: chicken burgers on the grill

Have a great day everyone!!!
Wow Mel you and your mom really got some great deals. I need to get a new vacuum sealer, but I'm not sure which one I want.

As an add on to the QOTD. We went to Wally World because my mom needed something. We went to the clearance isle and they had Henckels knifes on clearance. We got a 3 piece set for 12 dollars. They had one with a knife block for 45 but we don't need that.
they had some really good deals. 20 dollar food saver and boxes of bags for 2 dollars. We had needed a new vacuum sealer due to ours being so old. We use them a lot, packages of the velvet hangers for 5 bucks. My mom got some legos that were really cheap(her and my brother love legos). Stainless steel solid measuring cups for 3.

Good evening all,
Just wanted to post and say hi.
Today was a really nice day. I got to spend an hour on the deck this morning drinking coffee and listening to nature. I was able to help an acquaintance to laundry. I played an hour of cards. I had a somewhat pleasant conversation with the landlord about issues in the house. I took the dog for a long walk in the park and he ran some energy off. I showed a recent video of my dog 'smoking' to different people.'

QOTD- I have a set of Wüstof knives. The chefs knife and utility knife are my everyday workhorses. I have one Japanese knife that cuts like butter. I don't use it often because I don't want to damage the blade and it was really pricey.

"I wonder if pizza thinks about me, too."
When I moved a few years ago I got rid of a lot of my old knives and bought a Henckels set with built in sharpeners in the knife block. It has worked out great for me. If I did a lot of cooking now I would definitely consider the Japanese knives.
