My weight loss has been really slow the past 3 1/2 weeks - Is this normal??
I'm 5 weeks out tomorrow. In the first 4 weeks ( this includes 2 weeks of pre-op) So in the first 4 weeks I lost 25.5 pounds. And and in the last 3 weeks or so I have only lost about 5 pounds..
Is this what ya'll experience??

Everyone's experience is different. If you've been reading this forum for any length of time you've read about the inevitable stalls all along the way, right? Keep on your program. Keep away from white food. You'll be OK.

All I can say is be patient! Yes, I have hit 2 "walls" along the way. I stayed at around 302 for over 2 weeks. It was very frustrating and I was doing nothing different!

It has seemed to come off in waves for me - I have lost 8 pounds in the last week. Getting closer to 100 lbs lost!
Yay me!

Hi, I posted on here earlier today the same thing. My surgery was May 12. Lost 25 pounds but up and down the same 3 pounds for last 3 weeks! People said it was normal and to measure yourself when the scale isn't moving. I sure hope they're right! Thanks for posting it makes me think this is common!

Hi,
I am at week 9 and have lost about 35 1/2. I think 5lbs before surgery.  I have noticed a big change in myself, when I don't lose I don't panic now, I know the weight is going to come off, with the help of the sleeve, letting it doing it's job. Yea, I think my weight is coming of slow, have been at stalls, I just don't worry, like I did when I use to diet. We will get there.
God Bless
Evie

Yep. Totally normal. And normal is different for everybody. Each of us has messed up our bodies in different ways - so everyone's experience will be different. Keep doing the right things - make SURE you are getting MORE than enough water and protein and you'll be fine!!

Yup, you've hit the dreaded 3 week stall (which happens to just about everybody, though the actual week varies).  I'm in week 4 now and have been stuck at 309 since the 13th, only going down to 307 for a day and then right back to 309 again.  I just saw my surgeon today for my 2nd post-op appointment and he said it's totally normal, just keep doing what I'm doing with 80g of protein, 64oz of water and multi-vitamin every day and it will break.

Today when I got home, I took on cleaning my son's room (he's 5 and it was well beyond his ability to get it even close to done, though now he'll be tasked with maintaining it!).  Hopefully that bit of exercise will help jolt the scale back into action

I'm with you. I am one month out tomorrow and including a one week liquid diet I've only lost 23 pounds and only 5 in the last 2 weeks! If I didn't see a pound or so move  every couple of days I'd really be bummed out! I find it hard to believe my sleeve only holds 4 ounces. I had an entire can of Progresso soup yesterday (2 servings or 16 ounces) and still had room for a piece of string cheese! I still get physically hungry every 2-3 hours. It isn't quite as intense as before surgery, but it's still there and hard to ignore. Don't get me wrong, I'm not regretting the surgery... I'm just trying not to compare myself to my friend who had it done 2 months before me and lost 28 pounds in her first month after surgery! I'm really glad I only told a couple of people that I was having the surgery and have only told a couple more since. Because I returned to work after 2 weeks and nobody noticed anything. TNobody who doesn't know has noticed anything!  But the people who know are constantly asking me how much I've lost. I can't imagine what the pressure would be if everyone knew and everyone was asking me! I'm just grateful that it's coming off..even if it's slow. At least I know it will come off eventually if I keep with the program.
