disapointed should I be?

I am 2 months tomorrow from surgery.  I have lost 40.8 pounds and it has really slowed down.  (that includes the pre-diet and everything)  Should I be disappointed?  I feel it is as hard as before surgery.  I stay away from almost all carbs.  I haven't had any sweets, no ice cream and not candy or anything.  I do have some crackers.  Can someone help me with some diet ideas to spur weight loss. My exercise is walking.  Do I need to do something else?  Please help.  Monica

Not sure where you started, but I'd say 40.8 lbs in 2 months (plus 2 weeks probably) is pretty darned amazing!!! Crackers (though allowed on my plan) are a slider for me so I stay away from those, but it sounds to me like you're doing great!

Means I can eat a lot of them and not feel full.  The calories in these foods really add up - as well as carbs if yours are restricted.

Sounds like you're doing really well!  Almost 41 pounds in two months is awesome!

I have found tracking in intake to really be helpful.  I know when I eyeball it or estimate it in my head, I'm not as accurate as I thought.  Are you tracking your food somehow?  If not, I use myfitnesspal.com and I love it!

40 lbs. in 2 months is 5 lbs. per week which is almost impossible so NO, you should definitely not feel disappointed at all. I'm not sure of your starting weight but I am 5 weeks out and have only lost 20 lbs so you are ahead of me. Keep going as you are...... the more you lose weight loss will slow down some.....just be proud the scale is moving downward and not up.

Also, measure food and post on myfitnesspal.com if you like it.

Does that work out to about 5 pounds a week? Let me ask you this - How much did you expect to lose in this amount of time?

Did you start out with a relatively low bmi or weight?  May it seems slow compared to much bigger people. Keep up the good work and track the carbs.
