I am a nurse of 17 years..and in my delusional thinking I am superwoman..I thought I would go back to work after 3 weeks...THERE IS NO WAY...I am taking a full 6 weeks..If I didnt move constantly and basically had like a desk jockey type job, I think 3 weeks would have been ok...but I am still having some considerable pain in one spot on my right side!

Best of luck to you and dont ru**** I was fortunate that a nurse on here broke it down to me when I asked her why she took off the whole 6 weeks...I thought after reading sooo many peoples post op happenings, and some had it soo easy. I think in my head I took this lighter than what I should have! This is major abdominal surgery...lol I sometimes visit the land of nonreality!

I own my own bookkeeping firm. My employees and I work from our homes. I took 2 weeks off. Having said that, I'm a control freak and it was hard. I answered a few emails from the hospital until my assistant changed my email password and wouldn't give it to me because I was high as a freaking kite. LOL

I was back VERY part time about day 4 and back full time around week 2. They gave me my password back after 2 days when I was high totally high. LOL. I still let my team members answer client emails and stuff. I just cannot stand not knowing what's going on

Control freak. Yes.

I'm a teacher. I did mine a month before school started. I probably could have gone back 2 weeks after surgery, but my recovery was very very uneventful & easy

I am executive assistant to to a dean at a community college. Took  4 weeks off, but could have used another week or two before diving back into the world of budget cuts, personnel problems, and unhappy students!

I'm a psychologist.  I sit all day so I could have gone back at 2 weeks but I had lots of time saved so I stayed home 4 weeks.
