NSV - And Feeling Good
Last night, for the first time I was able to walk in to a regular store (NOT Big & Tall) off the street, try on clothes that fit and look good. IT was an amazing feeling. I went ahead and bought some clothes even though I didn't want to (I probably wont be wearing them for long!)
In the 5 months since surgery I have gone from wearing a 3x-4x shirt to a 1x shirt. I have gone from a size 54 pant to a size 38-40 pant. The 38's were a bit tight and were low rise which Did not look good with my Panni..... Anyway, I was freakin Stoked. I have not been in size 38 since High School in 1989 (you do the math, LOL). THe shirt looks so small even though its an XL. My shirts are supposed to look like pup-tents, Right?
I am soooo impatient - I cant imagine what life will be like when I reach my goal weight! I havent seen myself at a normal weight since maybe 4th grade. If I am 80+ lbs away an fitting into 38's what size will I be in at 171? Good lord, could I wind up at a 30-32 waist? I don't even remember last time I was in that size. Could I one day be wearing a Medium Tee-Shirt? Emotionally it seems impossible!
I am sitting here typing this feeling an odd mix of emotions. I am excited by and proud of what I have achieved. I am anxiously awaiting a video conference in a bit for some coworkers reactions to how I have changed. I am looking forward to my support group tonight for their reactions. With all of that I am also really impatient waiting for the rest of my loss.
I may also be a bit to introspective about the whole thing - I should just shut up and enjoy my new clothes, LOL.

ENJOY IT! And you're right, you will be losing more weight--men seem to really do a faster job than women do so take advantage of all that it offers!
;-)
It really is hard to imagine holding up a shirt or pants or whatever and they actually FIT when you see the fabric and know, just know there's no way that they'll even go on and yet, they do!! We've got such a warped sense of what we are now we can't even see the forest for the trees....but in a good way. I'm betting those slightly snug pants will be falling off in a month. I always caution folks to buy only clearance if they can stand it, and don't fall in love with something smaller because they will be in and out of it quicker than they expect.
Hey, shout it from the rooftops if you want! You don't have to shut up about anything my friend! You have conquered the demon and have arrived! Rock that sleeve and keep on doing right.
congrats
