Question for those Who Question Calories/Plan
Here is a question for everyone who questions calories/plan.......
- 100 patients eat 600-800 cals a day.......How many make 100% EWL
- 100 patients eat 1000-1200 cals a day.....How many make 100% EWL
I can tell you for sure from what I've seen in 3 years here the number of 100% EWL patients is much higher on the 600-800 plan.
And of those two groups.....which patients stay on OH longer?
I know this opens up a can of worms..... but I think it promotes discussion of a subject that is not always clear.

I ate 600-800 calories during weight loss. Only now in maintenance do I venture up to 1,000 or 1,100.
During weight loss I was most often closer to 800 than 600, though. I felt much better closer to 800, more energy.
I also think some sort of exercise DAILY is important and instrumental in my getting to goal. I did not do strenuous cardio, but walk 2 miles and ride a bike 3 miles daily. I feel, for me, this is something I can and will do forever.

I know what you are getting at Frisco. The percentage of us who are successful stick with the 600-800 calories per day. I think this is the best way to reach goal and maintain. Of course, there are other factors such as exercise, water, protein etc.
My computer has been down a week and I can tell you that not being on OH was a big deal to me. I may not post much but I definitely read and absorb the information and support. I also try to be part of the "cheering section" for those going through the process because I know that this is important to me.

Honestly, 600-800 calories a day is a tough plan to follow, I'm not going to lie BUT for me, it's the only plan that seems to be working for my weight loss so I follow it. It is worth the hard work because I know I wouldn't be where I am right now if I was eating 1000-1200 calories a day. Those higher calories are going to be my maintenance calories even with exercise. That's ok with me because having a sleeve will make it a lot easier.

WWBD?
I can't do 600-800 cal, but i made the personal choice that I'd rather eat more and lose slower. I've been around for years and who knows if I'll ever hit 100% EWL.
Id rather lose 90% EWL and run a marathon v****ting 100% and not being fit.
