Allow myself to introduce....myself

Hello there!

I am new here. I've been hanging around, reading, searching etc.

My name is Susan-I live in Massachusetts. Planning on the VSG.

Is there a OH Message Board FAQ post somewhere? Something that lists out abbreviations, (i.e. WLS = Weight Loss Surgery), any "unwritten rules" , new member introduction post requirements etc etc.

Thanks! I look forward to "meeting" everyone!

Welcome!  Sadly there is no FAQ but there is a search feature that's sort of hidden!  It's the magnifying glass in the top right corner.

Where are you in the WLS process?

I did eventually find the search feature...whoops!

I started my WLS journey/trek/walkabout etc about 9 years ago. But I wasn't ready.

Fast forward to the past 2 years, lots of research, lots of talking with my shrink, boyfriend, kids, family.

In February I had my first appointment at the Weight Center at UMASS Memorial in Worcester MA.

I've met with their shrink and she cleared me.

I've met with the nutritionist twice and she cleared me.

I attended their 4 weeks of Weight Loss Surgery Skills classes (Behavioral/Nutrition/Medical/Excercise)

I have my appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday May 7th.

My HW was 290 my CW is 280 and I have no clue what my GW should be. I know what I WANT it to be, but I also know that is not realistic.

I have sleep apnea and I just got a APAP machine at the end of March, which is awesome..when it isn't spitting me in the face.

I am 42, have 3 kids from a previous marriage (22,14,9), and my boyfriend of 6+ years is 34.

My family, and the few friends I've chosen to tell about this, are very supportive.

I have lots of questions, fears, etc...one on my mind right now is what to tell my co-workers about why I am going to be gone for 3-4 weeks...

Oh, and I am sarcastic and sometimes try too hard to be witty..
