What's a light-weight vs not?

I'm seeing people refer to themselves and each others as a light-weight. What does it mean? It doesn't seem to be mean or anything?

Thanks,

Barry

I am considered a lightweight as I have 100 pounds to lose...waiting for the lost 13 pounds to drop..ugh!

I have had a slow rate of loss. I have lost about 10 pounds per month until recently. Now my loss has slowed down to about 2 pounds per month.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I really never expected surgery to work for me so everything is a wonderful surprise!

I always thought it meant people with under a 100 lbs to lose.

I haven't seen any formal definition for it, but 100 lb or less to lose is a good benchmark. Alternately, a 40ish or below BMI is a good standard, as a 5 ft tall woman who is 100 lb over often reacts more like a heavyweight metabolically than a 6 ft tall man with the same 100 lb extra load (which can make quite a difference as much of the advice that you see here is predicated on being a heavyweight.)
