Morning VSGers! Yesterday, I went on a 3.2-mile hike with Jon and also went to the fitness center and did a 2.5-mile run. It was a good work out day! In addition to that, I met a friend for coffee (and tried a Latte with no sugar, where have they been my whole life?!) and I spent a solid couple of hours figuring out what prints to order from our family photos finally. Those will go into Christmas cards for the grandparents.

QOTD: Do you have any sentimental jewelry? My engagement ring is sentimental to me because it was my mother's from her 2nd marriage. She was wearing it when she died and now it's mine. But, I don't wear it daily because I'm terrible at wearing jewelry in general, and it's also too big for me now!

QOTD: I have two rings that I wear 24 x 7 x 365, my engagement and wedding band and a ring that my DH gave me when we were dating.

Good morning! We are getting packed up and ready to leave for Cape Cod (for 3.5 weeks).

QOTD: I have a ring which was my maternal grandmothers and was given to me at my Father's funeral when I was 12. I have always worn it except for the 2.5 years my eldest DD wore it ****il she died). I also always wear the diamond studs we gave DD for her 30th birthday and she always wore (along with the ring****il after her death.

1 year, 9 months post-op, maintenance:

Good morning! My kids have their state test the next two days and my surgery is Thursday so I'm a bundle of nerves this morning. I have to pick up 65 sausage biscuits and smell them the whole way to school, haha, so that'll be good practice in self control!

We just missed the snow. I can't believe I'm saying this (I live near Memphis, TN) but it was SOUTH of us! :-( I do love a good snow as long as I get to curl up inside and just look at it.

QOTD: I don't really do jewelry. I wear my wedding band and engagement ring most days and I love them, but other than that I'll just pair a funky necklace woth a dress sometimes. My dad, who passed away when I was 15, had a 300 ring that we all loved (bowling) but we agreed to let my younger sister keep it because she's more sentimental.

Good morning! I had a really busy day yesterday, and I also had a fight with my mother-in-law. The first thing I wanted afterwards was a drink and a whole lot of chocolate. Instead, I cleaned, let myself have a good cry, and did some breathing exercises. I count that as a win.

QOTD - My wedding band was my grandfather's. It still has their inscription inside. I have a beautiful engagement ring, but I hardly wear it. I teach horticulture and constantly have my hands in soil, so it would get filthy. It also needs to be resized, but I'll wait until I reach my goal weight for that. I also have a really cool pewter and enamel necklace that belonged to my great-grandmother (I was named after her). I wear that occasionally.

I'm so sorry about the fight with your MIL. My in-laws stress me out (mostly my SIL) and I know that family functions without alcohol are HIGH stress for me and something I am going to have to learn to work through.

It's Monday and I'm super cold this morning. I'm seriously considering ordering an electric throw blanket for myself for the living room. Sheesh. Warm up, body! We got snow here over the weekend and I'm sure some of my coldness is just mental from -seeing- the snow outside. (Snow in December is weird here, we normally don't get snow until the new year.) I'm just hoping that everything will hold off so that my family can get to our "cabin" safely in 12 days!

My plans for today involve making a grocery list (I've already planned the meals) and going grocery shopping for the week, but I also started a book by my favorite author yesterday which means I might not leave the house ;) But I do need to go to the store so my family can eat tonight and so I can pick up my prescription so, sigh. Responsibility, right?

QOTD: I have a white gold star sapphire ring of my dad's that's important to me. I also have my mom's high school ring that I used to wear ALL THE TIME. Then I stopped and I don't know why. I also had a scarab bracelet that my mom got when she went to Egypt for college, but I haven't been able to find it in a long time and I have no idea what happened to it. Ditto for a gorgeous bear that my dad gave me at my high school graduation that I had turned into a pendant. Sigh. Sometimes moving sucks since things go missing. I've never lost hope that my bracelet and bear will turn up again some day. Like Erin, though, I suck at wearing jewelry. If I take it off once, that's pretty much it :P I try to change this. I even bought a jewelry box last year! But, yeah, I'm just not a jewelry person. This is why I needed a waterproof watch - I knew if I got something I had to remove to shower, the chances of it getting back on were slim.

Qotd my dad took the diamond from my moms wedding ring and turned it into a necklace.

Monday again already, SIGH! The weekends go by too incredibly quick this time of the year when you are trying to cram in all the Holiday stuff.

QOTD: Unfortunately, I had several sentimental pieces of jewelry that were stolen by my sister and pawned. She had a drug addiction and passed away in 2008. It's very sad to have lost those items since my family doesn't really pass down much. I do have a catholic medal from my grandfather and a small gold ring from my father's mother. Aside from that I have my engagement ring from my current husband.
