Went for DS woke up with a Sleeve
Wow, 5 hours on the table. That's a bit scary! I hope you have a good recovery.
Lots of people do well with just the sleeve. There's a guy in my support group who has lost over 300 pounds with one (and he's still losing). So it can be done. You seem to have the right personality to be successful, too.
Plus, one of the nice things about the sleeve is that it can be revised later so you have a Plan B if things don't work out.

Thanks everyone, Im happy with it and will follow the right plan cause my goal is still the same to get to my proper weight.
I look forward to learning what I need from here on out. So far recovery is great, Im walking 15 min four times daily with no problems. I don't really have any pain except for the ab muscles from the incisions and being filled with gas.
Im getting in 6 glasses of crystal ligh****er and my protein meals all with no problem at all so things are going great!
Just feel like I did 1000 situps LOL

With your attitude, I'm sure you will do fine. I know it must be disappointing and a shock but better safe and wait than be sorry.
Congrats on recovery so far. Sounds like you are doing great. The soreness does get better, promise.

Glad you are doing well..that is the same thing that happened to my husband (also went to GHP) he ended up loosing 160+ pounds with the sleeve..now almost two years later he is going to be getting the second part to loose the other 160 or so he wants to loose..as a light weight I think there is a good chance you won't need the second part..

TonyAlthough the Sleeve isn't what you signed up for, I'm glad that the surgeon put your safety first, and stopped before you were in serious trouble. Welcome to the loser's bench!
Im very happy he did that too. Both my surgeon and I was surprised that as a lightweight that I would have that much internal body fat, let alone we did not know I had any internal scarring.
Back when I was 18 I ruptured my liver and spleen and was bleeding internally for several days before I saw a Dr. I fell from my dirt bike and the handle bars pushed into my abs. I just thought I was bruised from the fall.
3 days later ended up in the hospital, didn't have any insurance, they did some scans etc, gave me some blood clotting meds kept me for 3 days till everything stopped bleeding and sent me home.
So never had anyone inside looking around. But totally forgot about this until my surgeon mentioned scar tissue inside.
So like everyeone said I think I will do fine and if not I have an option which hopefully I won't need :-) esp if I stick to my new eating plan, portions etc.
