Gall Bladder vs. Small Pouch

Okay - so I have a family history of gall bladder disease and recently I feel like the amount I can eat of the same food (nothing new) has been decreasing.  I looked up the systoms for gall bladder disease and many seem to be common issues which could be confused with just adjusting to my new VSG pouch.  I would love any feedback anyone might have... below are the systoms and no fever or vomiting:
-  Pain between my shoulder blades when eating just a small amount (less than what I could eat a week ago)
-  Some nausea when eating and after eating
-  Constipation - need to keep using Milk of Magnesia - not fun

Thanks folks - by the way I am going to see my Dr. tomorrow for my 6 week follow up and plan to ask just curious if there are other symptoms I should be looking out for...

Good luck with your doctor appt. Hope you get it resolved.

Oh, and just a point of reference,,,a VSG/DS'er has a sleeve, not a pouch. :)

GB problems are very common if you are 40ish, female and have lost a good bit of weight.  My symptoms were a horrible back ache and feeling like I had a concrete block under my ribs on the right side.  I don't remember constipation or nausea.  Are you doing benefiber or miralax?  Those are both very helpful with constipation so you don't have to use MoM.

I never had it happen to me and I am now sans gall bladder.  I've known a couple of people have it though and from what they described it really sounded like what I'd imagine to be an RNYer dumping, ie sweats, palpitations, etc (I'm going on what I've read and the dumping videos I've seen on youtube).

Pain the shoulder blades and nausea after eating is what happens when we eat too much, too fast and/or don't chew enough. Constipation plagues a lot of WLS folks and will probably get better when you can eat more because you'll be able to get more fiber.

The symptoms of a gallbladder attack are very similar to food poisoning and a lot of people report feeling like they are dying because of the horrible pain. It's sharp and it's lower down. It's more like stomach cramps.

gallbladder problems are something you cant miss - you would be in agony - unbearable pain in your right abdomen under your right boob, the bad back pain you describe but not only when you eat (it gets worse after you eat) and the nausea is relentlous.  I lived on zofran 4 times per day for a couple of months when I finally had my gallbladder out back in 2004.

Constipation doesnt usually go along with gallbladder problems.

You sound more like you might be eating your food too fast causing you to get the back pain,  the other possibility is many people with the sleeve have severe reflux problems which can leave to chest and back pain as well as severe  nausea.  Are you taking Nexium, prevacid or protonix?

Do you have any burning in your abdomen?  could be the beginning of an ulcer?  You  might ask for an endoscopy to rule it out
