Well, I made it through the pre-op diet without eating my own arm! angry But man am I starving!!!  I fly out at noon tomorrow, and will have surgery sometime tomorrow afternoon/evening.  I am so ready to get this done.  As far as my family knows, my hubby has treated me to a week at the spa in San Diego.  Things have been really difficult with my parents, who may be divorcing after 42 years, so they don't need any extra stress.  I am still a little nervous about going by myself, but again, keep telling myself "I am doing this FOR myself BY myself".  So, ready or not, here I go!

I wish you the very best of medical care and the very best for recovery! If you find comfort in this, my husband had to stay home as our car was broken and he uses a wheelchair. My friend drove me out of town for the surgery (not much room for 3rd passenger AND the wheelchair) so I could only talk to him by phone. The surgeon called him right after surgery and reassured him I was OK. We wi**** could have been different but it wasn't to be. I can tell you that it seemed scary at first arriving without him but everything was OK. The hospital was soooooo wonderful! The nurses soooooo caring! It was really nice. Only uncomfortable for about 4 hours after surgery and then got better each day. In this electronic era, you can message and video back and forth. You are a lightweight like me so I suspect be able to move about easier than our sisters who are heavier. I'll send a prayer your way tomorrow (and tonight:)  Be sure to update us as we'll be watching every day for you to surface.

All the best.  I went to Belgium alone although DH brought me back (I felt good and returned home after 4 nights in the hospital - they wanted me to stay another 4 locally, but I felt I was better off at home rather than in some room somewhere alone).
