Tomorrow is my day!
12/26/12 is the start of something great....my sleeve is scheduled for 12:15 tomorrow. I'm surprised that I am not anxious but actually I'm calm and looking forward to just getting it done. Driving to Seattle today and staying in hotel.....then to the surgery center. They said the operation only takes 45-50 minutes and then 3-5 hours recovery and then back to the hotel (it's outpatient surgery). The next day I'll go back to the surgery center to have IV fluids and then I get to go home if all is well. (and I know it will be......positive thinking!).
I'm hoping that 12 days is enough recovery time before I go back to work. I have a desk job so I hope that is enough time. Not telling anyone at work......too much gossip and opinions that I don't want to hear. My family are the only ones that know what I am doing and they are all onboard.
Wish me luck! :)
Sounds like a plan. You will probably be fine to go back to work in about 2 weeks. I do hope you have someone driving you and staying with you. Probably won't need it but I don't believe in driving when you have had pain meds or anethesia for sure. Drop us a line when you can.
Here's to a textbook surgery and a boring recovery.

What a special "gift" after the holidays! Seattle's near to me. I go through it on my way to teach at a school. My doctor is in Bellevue, just 10 minutes away from Seattle. Hope everything goes well for you and Merry Christmas!
All the best Joyce for a super speedy and uneventful recovery. We'll scooch down for you on the losers' bench!! ;)

Oh yes don't drive! At the time I felt great but a few days later my mom asked me if I remember my boyfriend checking on me or my new Jammie's she gave me, so i didn't have to wear the ugly hospital ones. Nope don't remember a thing , actually I dont remember that much of the drive home the next day even after my swallow test. Anyway I was fine to go back to work and I teach. Its definitely a roller coaster ride. Welcome and enjoy!
I am so excited for you...good luck...and wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery
