Today is day 5 of my gastric sleeve and I am still very bloated in my belly.  Any suggestions?  I have been getting in at least 64 ozs. of fluid per day, had several BMs.  Feeling great otherwise.  Just concerned about the belly....looks like I am at least 6 months pregnant.

I go back to work on Jan 7th so I hope this will get better by then.

I was bloated for a while.  Everything in there is swollen from the surgery and it just takes time.  It will go away in time (it's own time, not yours)  Just keep walking, sipping and resting.

I would say just keep walking and getting your fluids in.  Does it hurt?  It is probably just the fluids that they gave you and the gas.

Good luck.

While it could just swollen, it is also possible to be intolerant of something you are putting in your body.

Check these: lactose (a BIG one for me as I turned lactose intolerant immediately after surgery), and sugar substitutes. Sugar substitutes can cause gas/bloat.

Like one of the other people said, I was lactose intolerant right after surgery.  I started using soy based protein shakes and a lot of the bloating stopped.  I am now 3 weeks out and find I can use the soy and whey protein together with usually good success.  Gets more protein in and lets me use the whey I had bought.

Good luck.. also, gas x helps!
