I had my one month post op appointment today. She said the 'pain' that I have occasionally on my left side is a nerve entrapment. It will get better with time. My liver biopsy came back with early stage cirrhosis. Going to see an hepatoligist for that. I am down 32 pounds in 28 days. She scolded me for only getting in 50 grams of protein, and then scolded me for not being on pureed foods. I forgot two things. I wanted to ask her what my common channel length is and I wanted to get my lab order now. So when I go back in 3 months she will have the results.  Just an update. Several have emailed privately asking.

Great loss so far but yep, you need to up your protein.  Lots of ways to get it in other than drinking it if that is the problem.  You can do it.  You have done great so far.  angry

You sound like you've done well weight wise.  The rule is 30 grams of protein by the time you're 30 days out, 60 grams by 60 days and 90 by 90, so I wouldn't stress too much, just do as best you can.

I hope they manage to help you with your liver.  All the best.

32 pounds in 28 days is wonderful!!  Congratulations.

Protein is very important.  Try to get than in even if that is all you manage.

Keep up the great job!

You're doing fine and it will get better, I'm sure. I bet they won't find anything much wrong with your liver. It will be under a lot of stress this year as you are dropping weight rapidly and increasing your vitamins--all normal.
