Hi everyone. Today I had an upper G.I.; found a hernia; will they do revision surgery because...

I had RNY done 8 years ago; have gained weight; had upper g.i. today to check if there was a problem. They found a hietel hernia; will they perform a  revision/fix the hernia? Thanks for help/advice.

I can't imagine they wouldn't go ahead and fix everything at one time. Keep us posted.

I dont know if they will actually do a revision but I know our surgeons locally said that they can possibly help if the stoma has stretched etc.  Hope your hernia can be fixed and weight loss occurs. Good luck!!!

not sure what they could revise you too but maybe could fix something while they were there and get you back in losing mode.  Stay in touch.

They found hernia's on both me and a friend that had RNY. They didn't perform a revision because we didn't need one, however they did go through our navel and fixed the hernia. If you need a revision, you can ask if they can do both at the same time.

What are you wanting to revise to?

I've heard of tummy tucks being done at the same time as hernia repairs.
