Good morning! Sun is shining, birds are singing, a beautiful day here.

Last evening I rode with my 16-year-old daughter driving for the first time. Hubs, bless his courageous soul, has been teaching her. He just cleared her to practice anywhere but the interstate (they're still working on that a little) so now she says she'll drive me anywhere I want to go so she can get her hours in. Lucky me.

Today's weight: 140.6

How are you this fine day?

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

Oh boy, I remember those early driving days.. have fun with that one!

Up a pound again today, not exactly sure why.. been on plan. There must have been some sneaky sodium or it's the post-workou****er thing messing with me.. muscles are sore, that's for sure.

Started my IT project Mgmt. class. it is supposed to be my toughest one yet but I think it will be good. probably because it is more interesting to me then e-commerce. That was a horrible class and I procrastinated on it badly.

Still on my regular weekly cycle of losing a bit which I will happily gain back this weekend haha.

130 even

I do not deserve to be right in the middle of my range... I did not eat well yesterday. It'll probably show on the scale tomorrow or the next day, and I'll be deserving of it all.

On the flip side of that, I doubt I'll eat much of anything today. I've been working on this cold all week and it's finally moving into my throat/chest, which means that I won't want to eat. I feel like its gonna be a tons of liquids kinda day. Maybe I'll stop by the student wellness clinic between classes and get a z-pak.

Edit:
I forgot to mention, I'm super excited and proud to say that a good friend of mine is having VSG today, with the same surgeon I used. I guess you could say I kind of mentored her. Made sure to point her in all the right directions and help prepare her as much as possible. So if you think about it, cross your fingers for her. :)

136.0 this morning, same as yesterday.

I still remember my mother clutching the armrest and whimpering when I drove her with my learner's permit. It's funny now but at the time I was quite upset that she had so little confidence in my abilities.

One MORE DAY of 8 hour phone calls!  YAY!  This week has been exhausting!

Thats cool with your daughter.  I think I was the designated errand handler from the time I got my license to the time I left for college!  Groceries, dinner out, filling up the cars.  You got an extra hand on the way!

104 even today.  That's pretty good for me.  I am finding that I need to eat more in order to maintain this weight, the exercise is kicking my butt and I am burning at least 500 calories extra a day.  My trainer keeps warning me to eat more.  I really am trying.

On anther note, a mother at my kid's school has been talking about my weight loss behind my back.  She is telling the other moms that since I lost weight, I now  look a bit anorexic.  I don't agree with her and think she is a bit jealous as she has about 20-30 pounds that she could easily lose.  I am trying to stay away from the mean spirited stuff, but it's hard sometimes.  I keep running through all the nasty retorts I could make to her if she ever said anything straight to my face.  Meow!

Just keep prancing your skinny ass around school. They have to have "something" to talk about, if that's the worst thing they can say, well it reflects more on them than on you!

Elina, I have seen you in person and you do not look anorexic at all. You are very tiny and have a bone structure to match. I wouldn't recommend that you lose anymore, but you are not anorexic looking. I felt like a truck driver next to you. Ignore the naysayers. That woman sounds jealous.

Thank you Gail.  I don't think I look anorexic either, but this stuff has a way of playing with my head.  I asked my trainer about it today too, she said, " you look just right for your height and bone structure, but don't lose any more weight".  Basically, the same thing you are saying and the same thing I see when I look in the mirror.

I just realized what the date is today.  I am 2 year post-op today.

While I struggled with a gradual gain of 7 lbs over the past year, I buckled down and lost those recently with Dr Cirangle's help.  Today I weigh in the 126 - 127 range which is the lowest I've been since surgery.

The goal he set for me was 120 - 125.  I've continued to think I can get lower, but it hasn't happened yet.

I really have come to terms with what I can and can not eat.  I do avoid sugary foods and breads, which I used to love.  I recently became a vegetarian and have been struggling with what to eat.  It was so easy to eat chicken and salads every day....I'm searching for a new normal for me.

The past years have been a challenge, but I'm thrilled to be a thin person instead of a fat one.  I should write a post for the main board....will do that later.  I just wanted to share my anniversary with you all.

While maintenance is tougher than losing after surgery, it is so worth it.
