I've struggled with my weight since I was about 10 years old. My family was always focused around food. The excess weight stayed at between 20-30 lbs until after I got married and started having kids-well we know how that goes!

Anyway, I've dealt with jeers and mean remarks it seems like forever. About 5 years ago, I had a series of major life trauma events that included some health issues, a lot of surgeries, death of a child, losing a long time job and a divorce-and as a result packed on a bunch more weight. I've been about 100 lbs overweight now for the past 5 years and have tried every diet there is.

My blood pressure is high, my blood sugar is high (thank God no diabetes yet!) and my feet always hurt. Time to get serious. A co worker had the gastric sleeve done about 8 months ago and feels great and looks awesome. She says she has no regrets so I'm going for it.

The company I work for has told my insurance company that they won't cover WLS so I am having to do this all myself. The corporate HR director is probably some skinny bimbo. It's a good chunk for me but I think it will be worth it.
