Things I've learned in the last few months

Aug 07, 2023

So I was taken off of Synthroid and put on NP Thyroid by my surgeon. The NP Thyroid helped with my energy and started healing my cracked heels, but I stopped losing weight. It seems that I need a combination of the two medicines for my thyroid issue. My surgeon refuses to prescribe me synthroid, so I had to go to another doctor for that. That is another thing I have learned in the last few months. Never take what your doctor/surgeon says at face value. Always do the research yourself. Also, after the first year, the appointments with the surgeon are basically useless, and at that point they are just trying to sell you stuff that you don't need. I was told that my testosterone levels were low, but they are in the reference value, and I still have to deal with facial hair due to PCOS. I also learned that drinking diluted ACV helps with stomach pain when eating. It does a much better job than the heart burn medications, and it doesn't have the weird side effects. My take away with all of this is be proactive with your health, and make sure you know all of the facts for yourself before doing as a doctor says.
