I'm just starting my WLS journey, going thru the initial evaluations and tests and hoping that I get scheduled before year-end.  I've chosen gastric bypass because it's a middle/risk, middle/benefit procedure, with no plastic bits that need constant fiddling.  Also, since it's been done for 30 years, I'm hoping the procedure and side effects have been fairly well determined.

Patience isn't my strong suit, and even though I'm an accountant by trade, I don't have patience for a lot of administrative crap.  Yesterday, the insurance evauations (they're not bills, not sure what to call them) started filtering into my mailbox.  I don't understand them,  I don't know how to read them.  What do they mean "amount MAY BE billed"?  How can they deny claims for basic evaluation tests, even before the DR submits my comorbidities and weight history, etc.?  I can tell the insurance stuff is going to be a real pain in the backside already.  However, I consider it the cost of getting what I need.  I always thought they should give you a college degree, if you make it thru the gauntlet of getting registered for all the courses you need and getting financial aid.  

For the last few weeks my schedule has been full of Doctor visits and various other activities related to my WLS and I must say it's been very interesting.   I most enjoyed the endiscopy anestesia.  Could swear nothing happened to me, I just passed out and then woke up very pleasantly dopey.  No pain.  All doctor procedures should be like that.  Tomorrow I go back to my primary care doctor for another pap smear- yuck!  the one done to me in September didn't yield any cervical cells.  I swear, I'd like to go to sleep for those type tests.

Anyway, I'm going to journal here periodically, just to document my journey.  If anyone is interested, I'd appreciate Friends, cause I'm brand new to this website.
