Well, tomorrow morning I will be at the hospital getting prepared for my surgery.  I am the first case of the day so I have to be there at 6 a.m.  I probably won't be able to sleep tonight anyway.  I started the clear liquid diet yesterday and I have to say it was tough.  I did go out and buy some sugar free popsicles yesterday.  The chicken broth helped a bit.  Having something warm seemed a little more filling.  Well, today will be working, clearning house and getting things ready.  I've been waiting for this for so long.  I'm still excited but I'm starting to feel like this whole thing may be another futile attempt at losing weight.  I fear that it won't work for me.  That I may be the ONLY one who does not have success.  I have read that others feel this way propr to surgery and they went on to have great results.  I can only hope I am one of them and follow the plan that is given me.  I thank God for this opportunity to get my health and life back.  I have put off a lot of living because of my weight and I want to enjoy life again!  Have a super day everyone!

Today I start the dreaded clear liquid diet to get ready for my surgery in 2 days.  I look forward to cleansing my system of some of the heavy foods I have had lately and knowing this is my final step before my surgery.  I wish I could just breeze by it, but none of this process will be easy and I need to rethink everything that got me here so I can be successful in this endeavor.  A friend of mine that had lap-band surgery a few months ago reminded me that we can have sugar free popsicles so I will be running out today for a box of those.  I think that could be more satisfying that just drinking the liquids all day.  Hope everyone has a great Monday! 

Only 3 more days until my surgery.  I start my clear liquid diet tomorrow morning and I just want to enjoy today with some pasta, kind of my last supper.  I'm SO ready to get on with this journey that will be the beginning of a new me.

I have been on this binge thing wanting all these foods I know I won't be able to have.  We went to see The Dilemma with Vince Vaughn and Kevin James and shared popcorn and a diet coke.  Afterward, we picked up a pizza to bring home and watch the Pittsburgh Steelers game.  I'm not a big fan of football, but I wanted the Steelers to win for a guy at my church who is a fan, and he is suffering with brain cancer.  The game is a big deal to him so I was rooting for Pittsburgh.  So happy they won!  All-in-all, a good day.  I'm starting clear liquids Monday morning in preparation for my surgery Wednesday morning.  I am supposed to be the first surgery on Wednesday's schedule.  I am SO ready!!!  

It is very early Saturday morning, but I just realized it is only 4 more days until my life-changing surgery.  I had my last preop appointment with the surgeon and he thinks my surgery will be an easy one and he expects me to have good results.  I left feeling good about things.  I got to meet someone there who had sleeve surgery 4 months ago and  she is very pleased and said she has not had any trouble.  I am more than excited, a little scared, but very ready!  I have a couple of things I want to enjoy before my surgery and preop liquids.   I ended up with a horrible pounding headache by the time I got home from the doctor's office and had to take something and go to bed.  Now it is 1:30 and I'm wide awake.  Hope everyone has a good weekend! 

Seven days until surgery!  I went for my preop education class today and got more information and we all had to take a test.  Jim was with me and I think he was glad he went.  I have learned so much and continue learning more about my procedure.  I have to report to the hospital at 6 a.m. next Wednesday, which sounds like I'm an early surgery.  We went to the hospital to preregister and have the blood work done.  More information there.  I'm so impressed with the program my doctor has and the education/information given to the patients.  No one could ever go into this surgery with him and not know what they're getting into.  Had my weight checked and I have gained more over the Christmas and New Year's holiday.  I seem to be wanting everything in sight because I know my diet will change drastically soon, and I am SO ready for that!  Been on the treadmill each day trying to get stronger by next week.  It has been harder since the ankle injury but each day I'm doing a little better.  . 

Only 8 more days until I have my surgery.  Excited- YES!  Scared- A Little!  Worried- Somewhat.    Just taking it one day at a time. 

Nine more days until my surgery.  Just finished time on the treadmill, but it is much harder since being off for awhile after the ankle injury.  Can't do what I was up to before but it's a good start back 

  Ten more days until my surgery!!!!  I'm so excited and nervous, but more excited.  I want to be on the losing side.  Any advice out there?   

Two weeks from today I will be having my surgery.  I am very excited, getting a little nervous and hoping this wil work for me.  I often think I may be the only person who does not get good results.  I know the outcome will depend mostly on me, and the surgery may just help expedite the initial loss.  I'm worried about complications, about hair loss, about nutritional deficiencies, about how it can change me and those around me.  LOL  I guess I'm just a worrier.  I suppose most people have/had these same concerns, but I know without this surgery I will continue to deteriorate healthwise and I really want to have more energy and more fun with my grandchildren and my husband.  Looking forward to what 2011 will bring.  Best wishes for everyone!
