This is about as close to Birthday cake that I'm going to get. Maybe get a Starbucks cupcake that I've been eyeing when I go for a coffee run this morning. Who would have thought two years ago that I would have gotten this far. Things haven't been always good, but they seem to make things better all around.I am getting settled in the 50's and now am almost half the way through. WOW. I'll be a Grandma by this time next year. Life is good and the Lord blesses me.
I can say that I'm getting wiser and, physically, starting to really look good. Who cares that these last ten pounds have been the hardest.. I'm having fun!!

This Grandma thing is quite neat, so far. Megan went to her first appointment yesterday and she heard the baby's heartbeat. What a miraculous thing! Baby has a little beating heart. Just had to share....

I am going to be a Grandmother!!!! 2009 is starting out just wonderful. Megan and Steven stopped by tonight, which is kind of different for them, but not too strange. They told Jack and I. I was so excited. I have been a little suspicious just by the way she's been acting-not herself. She is due July 23. What a great time to have a little one. Megan is feeling OK, no sickness, just sleepy. She's just like me when I was pregnant-living to sleep.The weirdest part is living and sleeping with a grandpa.
WOO-HOOOOOO. I told my girlfriend-Deb and my sister. Can't wait to tell Judy..
Wait a minute, I'm too young to be a Grandma.

Here it is, almost to 2009. What a year 2008 has been. A lot of changes-job and myself. Especially myself!!! All for the betterI've only lost five pounds in the last 6 months. But I haven't gained at all. I went and saw Karen, PA today and she said it is tremendous to make it through the holidays and still loose weight, even though it is only one pound in 2 months. She wishes for no scales. Maybe not such a bad idea
I guess I can't be stuck on the scale, either, as I've lost two sizes since July.
Went snowshoeing last week. What a blast and what a workout!! Hope to get more snow so I can do some more........
I'm Thankful

Last week was Thanksgiving and it gave me time to reflect how grateful I am to be where I am today. I would have never thought I'd be feeling so much better physically. This has made me feel so much better emotionally as well...
Today I actually "forgot to eat." I was so busy working I forgot to eat breakfast. All of the sudden, I got really hungry and I thought OMG I forgot to eat. That would have never happened before.
I am really trying so much harder to break my plateau. I've bumped up my exercise. It helps working at home to get a more reliable routine. Not that I'm complaining about being sent to work near New Orleans. All that good Creole cooking .
P.S. The puppy weighs over 80 pounds

Holy cow! It is getting so close to my "bandiversary." It has been an unbelievable year. I would have never thought that I'd be anywhere close to loosing 80 pounds in my whole life!!!!! I went to a bariatric seminar yesterday to find out more about the vertical sleeve (not for me). It was motivating and grounded me to what I need to do to stay with the program..
Another beautiful weekend. I went 21 miles on the Kal Haven trail. Wouldn't of done it 80 pounds ago.
Had two great weeks in Minnesota. love my job!!!!!1

Oh my goodness!
I thought I have been doing better than this. I looked at the blog and my last entry was August 5. Things have been going in mega-speed.
Went to Tucson over Labor Day week. What a beautiful place! Cactus on steroids! My time with Sean was great. It was good to be able to talk to him alone. I am so proud of him. He really loves what he is doing. I would not be surprised, at all, if he goes active in the Air Force. He makes one awesome crew chief.
I see Dr. V (Karen) tomorrow. I will be surprised if I make another "decade" of weight loss. It is getting SO much harder traveling and eating a lot on the road with this job. Had to try lobster tacos in Tucson. The exercise part is so much harder, too. I will be home, doing work a lot more, so I hope it will get easier.
I LOVE MY NEW JOB!!!!
10 inches of rain and a tornado over the weekend
I want to break my plateau and get to a "normal" BMI.
Don't know if a fill is necessary....

I finally got a chance to look at my blog and see that July had passed me by. Maybe it's the new job that really made the weeks speed right by.
I know that I'm really am going to love this new job. it has it's own challenges-eating out all the time and not getting the exercise routine I need. but, I've been trying hard. We'll see when I go to my next apointment this Friday.
Summer has been good, overall.
The puppy weighed 44.8 pounds today. Ten more pounds than Bailey did at the same age. We got a big one. She is so endearing when her tounge sticks out.
She is going to be a great dog.
I can't wait to see if I will sit better in an airplane seat than I did last August.

43 MILES!!!

This past Saturday was truly a test of where I am. I went on a bicycle ride in Amish country with my sister. I was able to ride 43 miles and still have enough energy to do more...
I was able to stand and pedal uphills which was almost impossible before. My bike shorts are getting kind of baggy and I need to get a smaller size....

We got a new PUPPY!!! Well, it's been two weeks. Been so busy with my new "baby" I've hardly have had time to write in my blog. She's the sweetest and her name is Kallie. 15.6 pounds of bullmastiff, sweet smelling puppy love. She can really sass Oscar, too.As far as the band goes, I am seeing Dr. V in 2 weeks which will put me 2 months since my last visit with him. I love this band. I can work all morning and afternoon and not think about or feel hunger. My weigh stalled, but now it is starting to move downward again.
Don't really care about my job with the job reviews. But, I finally got THE job at GE Healthcare. Will involve some travel, but it will be an adventure.
