It's Friday! I'm glad. Tomorrow we are celebrating our family Thanksgiving. My brother in law will be in town and this is the first holiday that we've spent with him. He lives in the DC area and doesn't generally come back to MI too often. The initial intention of this dinner was that we were going to have dinner with dad too; however, he passed away Oct. 20. So, we're still doing the dinner and he'll be there in spirit. His ashes aren't too far either (We haven't been able to make the trip to FL to spread his ashes yet).My Endoscopy the other day went completely fine. I was SO nerved up, I gave myself a headache and a stomach ache that morning. When I got there and they brought me into the prep room, I sat there in the recliner and my leg was just shaking! They hooked up the IV and brought me to the procedure room. I remember them spraying my throat with some cherry flavored numbing spray (which was kind of like a strong chloroseptic), and I had to lay on my left side, then I believe they put some plastic thing in my mouth,….and that’s it. Next thing I know, I’m in a recovery area sipping some mighty tasty grape juice. It really was no big deal at all. And they even gave me some pictures that they took to take home. I didn’t find much fascination in that, but my husband did. Sometimes I think he should’ve been a doctor! So… just like a few people had told me, it really was not a big deal. But, boy was I ever nervous. So now, I’m afraid of what I’ll be like when it comes time for surgery for crying out loud. With the Endoscopy, they used conscious sedation – not even fully asleep like what they’ll do with surgery. I can do this… The pain will be tough I’m sure, but the end result of losing weight and getting more fit will certainly be for the better! I’m both nervous and excited to meet a new improved, healthier me. What will I be like as a thin person?
