3 Weeks Post Op (Almost)

Jan 03, 2010

Tuesday will be 3 weeks post op.  At my 2 wk appt last Wednesday, I was weighed and I've lost 37 lbs since the pre-op diet began.  I'm good with that!

I was extremely excited to be able to introduce some soft foods into the diet.  The carnation instant breakfast drinks were getting old and I was nearly gagging by the end of 2 weeks trying to get them down.  And that's not because they don't taste good, but it's because they're sweet.  I was truly getting tired of sweet.

Now I've been enjoying refried beans, cottage cheese, yogurts, soft potatoes, oatmeal, etc.  It's been WONDERFUL.

Today I tried a high protein sour cream sauce recipe...it was simple and tasty.
1/2 cup cottage cheese
2 tbsp. lowfat milk
Blend these two ingredients until smooth
Finely chop a green onion and mix it in.  Salt & Pepper to taste.
Place it in the refrigerator while your potato is being prepared.
When the potatoe is ready, pour it on and enjoy!

I didn't miss regular sour cream...this was very tasty...
Oh and chew chew chew!

Enjoy.
