Hello everyone,
Back at home after my revision. I was under the impression I would be able to drive myself home after my overnight hospital stay.....NOT! Please take the time to heal and recoop properly...we are not super heros and no need to try and act like one!! LOL. I am grateful to God for all he has done. Keep me in your prayers

Hello everyone,
Only 2 days until surgery!! Yeaaaa.... It's been a long journey for me. So many failures but God is still in control and tell me Im worth all the troubles and I will be blessed. I will try to update soon after surgery once im home and give all the details. have a great weekend.

Hello friends,
It has been a long time since my last post but I have some exciting news to share. I have been approved for a revision and will have the lap band removed and go to the gastric sleeve. My approval came in 2 days. I have new insurance this year and was afraid they wouldnt approve me. God is so good!!
I have been in counseling and it has help me understand why I have failed all these years at losing weight and I feel I am ready for change this time! Please keep me in your prayers.

Hello OH friends. I am so excited... I just started a 10 week program with a personal trainer. 
So far so good. I have completed week one and Im feeling great. He is ready to step up my plan from 3 days a week to 4 but I need to wait a few minutes before doing that. I have finally started to lose weight but not because of the surgery...but because Im dedicated to working out and getting results.... keep watching for new pics as the months progress...... less to come!!!

Today I went to see my doctor after 4 weeks and I have lost another 3.4 lbs since my last visit. I also lost quite a few inches which explains why my clothes are falling off of me.... Im still not convinced Im on a roll yet... maybe when I've lost 25+ lbs I will consider it a trend. I am still excited about my progress and I am not will to give up. So in the last 2 months I've lost 9.4 lbs...Yeah ME!!!

It's been a while since I posted any comments mainly because I have been digusted with the small amount of progress I had made within the first year after my surgery. I am happy to report that my band is finally where it needs to be and I am loosing weight constantly and working out again. I've learned that I must never give up and do what it takes to suceed. Please keep me in your prayers....eb

I've just returned from a 2 week vacation. It was bitter sweet- while at home visiting my parents, my Dad's brother was killed. Can you imagine having a funeral and a family reunion on the same day? I can say that I lost about 7 or 8 lbs while there and Im excited about that. I walked every morning with my Mom and Aunt and because it's so hot here, I must have sweated off at least 5 lbs. SO down I go.... lets see how far I can get this time.... I want this!!

Hello - its me again- My surgery went well and Im almost healed. I havent started back exercising yet but I will. I've gotten some great encouragement from friends on this site and from my friends and family around me. Just when I needed it most my Angels came through for me 
! Now I know Im not in the struggle alone. If I didnt tell you already- THANK YOU for all you do.

Hello everyone- I will be having yet another surgery. I found out I have gall stone so the bladder has to come out. The surgery is tomorrow and Dr. Kim is doing this surgery as well. Im still not happy with the amount of weight I have NOT lost but I refuse to give up. Discouragement is a part of this game and we all experience it from time to time so If your feeling like giving up-
--DONT DO IT!! We can do this...We can.

Its been a while since I gave an update so here goes.... I am down about 18 lbs so far. Trying to be happy about the number but have to realize it's only a number. I try to workout at least 5-6 times a week and keep pushing myself. I have every confidence I can do this. Oh yeah, my fatty skin is hanging on my legs and it really upset me the first time I noticed how much. DONT GIVE UP.... NO MATTER WHAT!!! This is my new motto. I have to finish this race. I got my first fill on 1/29/07. Dr. Kim gave me 1cc because he thought I said I could eat a whole Chicken!!!! LOL! Well today for the first time I can feel the restriction. I tried to eat some chicken for breakfast and it got stuck (what pain) and I felt like I couldnt breath...eventually it came up. This is my first time getting sick like this...now I have a headache and feel weak. I want to go home and go back to bed! I have been working out for the last 10 days non stop. I didnt want to exercise this morning but made myself do it anyway and I felt better. Hopefully I am on my way down....

Today Im feeling pretty good. I've been taking b-12 injections which is giving me a lot of energy. I'm also excited about my new house. We looked last night and the carpet is in but no appliances yet and the bathrooms are not finished yet...but I will be ready for closing on Feb. 23rd. God is soooo Good. I know that eveything is going to work out for me.

I find myself getting pissed off everytime someone asks me about my progress with the surgery. Im not loosing any weight and Im so sick of people questioning me... I spoke to my doctor and she is writing me a script for the b-12 injection. Since my ex-husband is a doctor he can give me the shots. Hopefully that will boost my energy levels.

This has been some year. I was starting to feel like the surgery was a failure until I spoke to several people who have had the lap band. I am feeling what everyone felt at first. People keep telling me they can tell Im loosing weight... but I cant see and the scale says im not. I trying to stay positive through this... with God's help I can be a success. Happy New Year to everyone...

I had my post op appt with Dr. Kim and he thinks Im doing great. I will go back in 6 weeks. I have started to push myself to walk everyday and will begin making better and better food choices now that I can eat meats... Im excited to see the changes over the next 6 months.
12/04/06 Im finally on the other side!!! YEAH..... my surgery was a sucess on the 29th and I am feeling really good. The only sore spot is where the port was attached to the muscle. Since sugery I have lost 10 lbs but I plan to weigh in only once a month from this point on. I am very excited about this new journey and I have been walking on my treadmill and just started yesterday on the eliptical...2 minutes and will try and work up from there.
Ive tried every pill, excercise program, and diet ever invented...and im bigger than i've ever been.
11/8/2001 I have my initial consultation with Dr. Oh on 12/5/01 and im just to excited...finally im on my way.
11/13/2001 I have been talking with people from this site and asking tons of questions and getting feedback so fast it make my head swim. I can believe the support im getting and some support im NOT getting. But its all GOOD!!

12/04/2001 Tomorrow is my first appt with Dr. Oh. I heard great things about him and have spoken with many people from this site who have been very supportive and I want them to know how much I appreciate it. Im starting school in January so I wont be able to schedule my surgery until after March 20, 2002 but depending on how the appt goes tomorrow, I may with draw and start school at a later date. 12/07/2001 My appointment with Dr. Oh went great. He explained the procedures that he performs and told me to pick which one I wanted. I have my first test at the hospital on wednesday 12/12 then a follow up with the Doc the following wednesday. This is the day my paperwork will be submitted to the insurance. I have dropped the classes I registerd for because it seem my surgery will be sooner than I think...so I will put school off another quarter. God Bless until next time.
12/27/2002 I didnt have the surgery this year due to trying a product called Advocare. I lost 50 pounds but I no longer take the product and I have probably gained about 10 lbs back. Im now looking into the sugery again but the time the adjustable LAP Band.
5/14/2003 It's been a long time and I have moved to Texas. The gastric bypass was to evasive for me and I have decided to do the adjustable lap band. I have had my inital consult and Im now waiting on insurace approval. So hopefully I will have the surgery for my birthday in June!!! More updates to come.
5/22/2003 My doctors are Dr German Berbel and Dr Adam Smith. Dr Smith had the Adj Lap-Band surgery and looks great. My paperwork should have gone to the insurance by now since there was a delay last week. Both these doctors are very nice and knowledgable. Dr Smith teaches this surgery all over the world to other doctors so I feel very comfortable with him and Dr Berbel doing this surgery. But for now, its a waiting game.
10/11/2004 Just an update. Cigna denied me for the surgery so I have not tried again since this time. Unfortuantely I have given up.
7/21/2006 Back again..still overweight but have been given the key as to what I need to get an approval from Cigna. It will take six months of documentation and 3 diets...so I have made my appt to see the doctor and get the paper work I need to log all my eating and activites. I have also scheduled a pre op seminar with the surgeon. I think after 2 years it may actually happen this time.
09/28/2006 GREAT NEWS!!!!! I got a call today from my doctors nurse and my surgery has been APPROVED!! GOD is sooooo Good!!

I had my pre-op appt today. I got off work at 2am and didnt go to sleep until 3:30am or so...up at 8 make appt... I am so tired...The appt was great... and I am still EXCITED---I have 18 days before surgery!!!

Today I started my liquid diet and had an appointment with my surgeon. He is very nice and also very attentive and caring about his patients. I have 14 days left before my surgery....and counting

Today I got a call from my doctors office and my surgery has been postponed until a later date. I had an EGD done and there is a growth in my stomach that the surgeon wants me to deal with first before he will do the Gastric Bypass. I'm glad he is moving precausiously...make me know I chose the right doctor!
10/24/06 I had a day surgery yesterday to remove the polyps from my stomach...everthing went well. I will be seeing Dr Kim on Friday and will hopefully get scheduled for the bypass. Keeping my fingers crossed!
11/16/07 APPROVED- I found out I was approved for the Lapband today...just waiting on a surgery date.... So I'm on my way again...
