Medical clearance was my last prereq and it was completed on 2/20.  I informed my nurse the say day.  She said I would be receiving a call from the scheduling dept to schedule a mandatory "after surgery self-care" class as well as receive a surgery date.

I told myself I wouldn't be a pest about it...that I would give them maybe 1-2 weeks before I start calling them.  It's only been 5 days and I'm growing impatient. 

HURRY UP ALERADY!!!!  I continue to wait.

Picked up Prevpack today-prescription from the nurse.  $99.

Finally got the medical clearance!  My sugar was high this morning and I thought he was going to put it off for another two weeks.  All is done; waiting to be scheduled.

Just after midnight.  I'm supposed to be sleeping at my sleep study appt right now.  Some unfortunate events occurred tonight-family related.  Had to cancel.  So tired & sleepy but cannot go to sleep right now.  Just reflecting. 

Taking it easy on the carbs today.  Going in for medial clearance (AGAIN!!) tommorrow.  Want the blood sugar to be nice and low.  Don't want to give the MD any reason to not clear me again!!

Damn!!  Just thinking...I haven't been under 200lbs in probably 11 years.  And that was after I had lost weight to meet my military standard at the time.  After I made the weight, it was no turning back. 

Hopefully, when I get the surgery I can maintain a 195-200 pound frame forever.

Oh Snap!  Getting sleepy

Up late tonight (as usual).  But even later tonight.  Got a sleep study tomorrow night.  The last time I did it (4-5 yrs ago) it took 2-3 hours for me to fall asleep.  Want to be good and tired for tomorrow night.  Tomorrow at work might be a challenge though.  Can you say Red Bull???  Will be the first time I go to bed before 2100 (9 p.m.) probably since last sleep study (yep 4-5 years ago)

Received approval letter from BCBS Louisiana!! 

Visited MD for medical clearance.  This was my first time visiting this guy.  He had no history on me.  We did manage to have my labwork forwarded to him for review.  Did ANOTHER ekg!!  He saw that my A1C was over 9 and my sugar was 231 (fasting) on day of labwork.  Didn't clear me.  BUMMER!!  Prescribed two additional diabetic meds and an additional trig med and said to come back in two weeks.  That's 2/20/09.  Hopefully, he will clear me this time.

Initial  appt with surgeon, Dr. Warden.  Seemed like quiet, straight forward kind of guy.  Explained risks of DS and indicated he thought it would be good for me.  Interesting, weight was 268.5.  Went up half a pound from 12/31 but BMI went down two tenths of a point from 36.6 to 36.4
