Well i'm on the otherside. And I'm so exhausted. I woke up monday after surgery feeling like i was hit by a bus! It was so extremely painful I had no idea how painful this was going to be. But with the help of some great nurses bringing me meds around the clock, I'm feeling so much more normal today. I am tired probably from the pain meds too! Yhe gas pain was soooo terrible too! a nurse told me to lie on my side (perferable left) with my knees bend and up toward my chest, to encourage gas, and it worked!! Nurses are miricle workers. My Potassium as just alittle low froim my labs this morning so they are giving me 40mEq of K+ in 500 Nacl. Now a new pain the potassium burns going in to the IV, but some ice it feels better. They pulled the jp tube this morning and the foley came out the beginning of day 2.
I'm excited to go home. nervous too to be without the medical experts around in a push of a button. Man I'm tired i'm going to try to take a nap. If your reading this and are in to youtube check out my progress my user name is jessicaquesada21
update on weight progress i weighted 272. 6 morning of surgery, dr wanted me down to at least 275 so i made his goal. So excited to see what my progress will be 1 week post op

I'm so excited 16 hours till check in. I can't wait!!! I should try get some homework done that needs to be done over spring break but I feel so distracted!!

OMG it's almost here!!
Well the first two days of the liquid diet were hell. but i'm feeling much better, except my i'm fighting  off coming down with a cold. I feel like this can;t be happening!! but god will take care of me and it will al work out. I've put all this work in to this so far. this is the last haul. I'm almost a loser too!!!! YEAH

It's almost time. I had my last pre-op appt with hospital. They drew labs and registered me. I'm so excited when I went to the surgeons office last tuesday I weighted 282. Less then I expected and down 11.5 lbs from dec. 2nd when i fasted for that appt.  So excited I start the liquid diet tomorrow!! YEah!!!!

I got approved and a date within 30 mins. I called to bug the insurance company and I found out I got approved!! I then called the surgeon office, left a message. I got called back within 30 min and got a date! MArch 23rd. perfect right before spring break for school  I'M SO EXCITED!

Well I meet the surgeon on Dec. 2nd he said I must lose 15lbs to be at 275 by the time of surgery. SOOO In reality that's 20 lbs and I'm depressed about it. I know that it will be healthy for me and help me have a safe surgery but i was hoping to get a surgery date or something. I really just wanted him to say okay your ready to go lets do this. SIX freaking months of appt and jumping through hoops and now I still have to wait!
Oh well so I haven't worked out or been following any plan I wanted to start a protein shake and one low cal meal diet but i need a couple days home to start that cause at work that's hard on the first day of "fasting."
Goal for this week is get to the gym at least three times. Today is friday and I can do this!

Why am i doing this to myself. I having been eating crapy and now the scale is showing it. i meet the surgeon in 10 days. and the scale at work is saying 302!!! i was 298/297 at my first visit. HOW am i going to get down to 294 OR LESS in TEn days.  I have been thinking about fasting. maybe, cabbage diet, liquid diet, MORE freaking Diets!  What am i going to do?

I have my 5th month appointment with my WLS doctor on Nov. 4th. I'm so excited!!!! almost there. Dec. 2nd surgeon appt. I have been having trouble focusing on my eating. I have all this stress from school and work. So eating properly is always on my mind but i'm not following through. I hope I'll be okay. I can't wait!!!

I made my appt with the surgeon On Dec. 2nd. This will be after my last 6 month appt. for my insurance. I can't believe it two more months and it's finally gonna happen. I'm hoping for the middle of the month around the 19th after my last final for this semester. I can't wait for the new changes in my life. i've lost 5 pounds and i'm hoping to lose another 5 lbs by my 5 month appt on Nov. 4th. i can do this it is very manageable!!! I can do this!

    So after many months of jumping threw hoops and getting no where with kiaser, I started WW dec 07- april 08 stress, disapointment and weight gain followed a few successful months.
I got a job in the ER at the hospital i've been working at, when i was introduced to a wonderful person named meredith. Who happened to give me the information for Dr. Lee.
     I have  now have my second appt. with dr. Lee of six, before i can meet the insurance criteria for surgery. I met the nutritionist part of Dr. lee's team, Marnie. She's very nice and we have worked out a plan to begin my lifestyle changes. I will try to eat a good protein source and fruit/veg with every meal and make one of my two snacks a protein. I have also purchased lean cusines as part of my lunch plan.
  I have WLS orientation on Aug 18th and my appt with the psychologist on Sept 2th, Then my thrid appt. with Dr. Lee Sept 4th.
I'm so excited I think this is my time!
