A Wonderful feeling(new year's)

Dec 31, 2019

Just was thinking about how wonderful it feels to not have to make yet again a BS new year's resolution to lose weight because I've been staying true to my lifestyle change. At work yesterday I think I overheard at least 5 people say how they are going back on their diets after new year's. One person even asked me if I thought they can do it and I replied "well I don't know because I know for me whenever I tell myself I'm going to start my diet at a later date..it never happens." I tried to tell her that the best success I had was when I just begun dieting right now..next meal Time. Because tomorrow never comes. She didn't listen though. Oh well all I know is it's a Wonderful feeling when you have done it all year long and have one less thing to  worry  about.

I am the lowest weight I have been in my adult life.

Dec 30, 2019

Weighed in yesterday when I woke up and I was 249. The previous lowest weight I've been in my adult life was 251 in 2004. That didn't last Long. For the most part I have been keeping my carbs in check. No sugar at all. I have been allowing more carbs than in previous months though. Nothing like I did before surgery. But most days I eat once a day and average 15k steps 5 days a week at work.

Finally hit the 250s

Nov 25, 2019

Was stalled at 261 for the last 2-3 weeks and and I happy to report I have finally hit the 250s. The Lowest weight in my adult life I have ever weighed was 251 in 2004 after a 89lb weight loss in 9 months doing atkins. Which did not last long as I had a "cheat day" that turned into a cheat year..

Finally hit the 260's

Oct 02, 2019

Woke up this morning and weighed in at 269. The week prior I had forgot to weigh in after work..I was hungry and worn out I just wanted to eat my first meal and rest my feet/legs on the recliner. Immediately after I took my first bite of food I realized I forgot to weigh in so I just said forget it as it wouldnt be truly acurrate. I have been averaging 15k steps at work which is way more than I had been walking before i started working.

Finally hit 100lbs lost

Sep 18, 2019

I got up early for work and weighed in and was down 4lbs for the week. I usually weigh in several hours later in the day to get out as much water as possible..and get a accurate weigh-in. So I probably was down more than 4lbs... but hey I'm not complaining. But yay, now I can officially say I am 100lbs down! Never lost this much weight at one time before so it's pretty cool. With all the times I have lost and regained weight the most at one time I have ever lost was 89lbs.

Started a new job

Sep 10, 2019

Started a physically demanding job recently and while the first day was pretty horrible on my feet, the second day was much better. There's no way I could have done it 96lbs ago back in September. I've been averaging over 14k steps during my shift. Probably the most I have ever walked in my life.

another week another pound down

Aug 21, 2019

It's been slow the last 2 weeks. Only losing about 1 pound a week. I have definitely been eating more than weeks past So that has alot to do with it I am sure. I still have not been exorcising except for walking about an hour a day. I'm not sure if i even could exorcise much more If I wanted. I have been having so many body pains lately. My whole body feels sore, and its the worst when I stand up from a seated position. Seems to take me a min. to really get going. My younger brother who also had the VSG surgery doesnt seem to understand. He is still about 60 to 70lbs heavier than I, but he moves much quicker. He is also 4 years younger. Not sure if its my age or what but I feel like i am one quick leg twist away from my hip giving out.

Back on track after a stall.

Aug 08, 2019

Had a stall the week after my birthday which resulted in no weight loss. It was pretty expected though. For my birthday I baked low carb brownies and Blondie's and my family also bought a sugar free cheesecake from a local bakery. But low carb/sugar free does not mean calorie free. Most times having more calories because they have sometimes more fat added to make up for the loss of sugar. But I am diabetic and these are the only treats I allow myself to endulge in on special occasions. But one cheat day turned into 4 cheat days and I can't expect to lose weight eating sugar free cheese cake for dinner and low carb brownies for breakfast. Luckily the following week I got back on track and had a 2 lb weight loss on Weds for the week. 281lbs. 91lbs down since September 2018 when I entered the weight loss surgery program I attend. 66lbs down since February 13 when I had VSG surgery. I want to get to my original goal of 220lbs that I never made it to back in 2004 when I did Atkins and lost 89lbs in 9months...I only ever got as low as 251. That was with tons of exorcising. I think the best part of the weight loss with VSG is I have not exorcised once yet. I hate exorcising and I can continue this pace of weight loss without it. I am all for it!

Edited for a error I made when I said "91lbs down since september" I originally put 99lbs down.(if only)

Had my 6 month post op check-up

Aug 02, 2019

Yesterday was my 6 month check-up. I was down 24lbs since my last appointment 3 months ago. Almost at the 100lb mark since entering the weight loss program in late September. The PA basically said that this is the point in the VSG where the surgery itself doesn't force me to lose weight. And more than ever I will be relying on the good habits I have learned along with exorcising. She said if I go 4 or more consecutive weeks with no weight loss to make an appointment with the dietician to get it corrected before it gets out of hand. They would rather have us come in early to talk about why we are gaining or no longer losing than come in like a year later when we have gained most or all the weight back.

My next appointment isn't for 6 months. Which would be my 12month post op appointment. They took blood and I am interested in seeing if my anemia has gone away. She said it's odd I had low iron because the VSG surgery itself doesn't cause it, and that I was probably boarder line before surgery. I thought well hmm..you did tell me to stay away from beef pre-op..maybe that had something to do with it? Also to limit starches to a half cup per meal. (Including Beans and legumes) Anyways I've been eating a lot of beef post op, as well as beans. While still taking my iron pills. If I am still anemic something else is going on.

Edited for Update: I got my bloodwork back and my Iron is now at normal levels.

Were Cars built smaller in the 80s?

Jul 31, 2019

So last night my older brother texted me to say he was coming over with his "new" 86 corvette he just bought. He wanted to take me for a drive. Mind you I have lost 89lbs since Sept. of 2018. I am feeling great. That is until I attempted to get into the Vette. Holy Moly! I swear the passenger seat looked like half a seat..The leg room insanely small..and the seat itself had raised up sides..So I try to fit my 283lb self in this tiny car. I fit in the seat but like barely. I think i was half in it the seat and half on top of it. Dear lord I felt like 100lbs heavier than I am. My brother was laughing his ass off...I was too. We went for the ride though..It was fun as hell. Couldn't help to think how much more fun it would have been had I felt 100% comfortable in the seat. I guess I have My new motivation. To fit my fat ass in my brothers 86 corvette, comfortably.
