1 week and 1 day after i left the hospital following surgery, went to the doc's office yesterday and I'm doing well..............I feel OK, i have lost 21lbs since surgery, and will return to the doc's in 3 weeks time...........although i really don't feel like i have lost any weight (or look it either) i guess the scale doesn't lie....................so....so far so good.....still at home chillin....trying to decide the best time to head back to work...........started back at the gym today (0430 this morning) it was good to be back there. I like lifting.i am still a little bandaged up and a little sore, so i will have to take it easy for the next few weeks and try not to lift to heavy...............later

Scary moment.............4 days before my surgery and I get a call from the doctor's office that did my upper GI,she begins by saying, " nothing to serious, but you have a stomach infection"........I'm thinking to myself, "nothing serious, I'm going under the knife in 4 days, and that knife is going right into the place where i have an infection?!............lol.......this cant be happening......how can i get so close, and possibly be told by my bariactric surgeon that your surgery will have to be delayed until you come off of the 3 medications of anti-biotics, in 10 days  &%^$#@#$%^....I very seriously pondered not telling my surgeons office........I was going to go through the motions and take my chances on the table.........a night of sleeping on it told me the answer though.........I said, ken, you have been chasing this surgery for 3 years......if it has to be delayed a couple of weeks whats the big deal...........besides you could be endangering your life by not telling the surgeon that you have an infection in your stomach..........ie....i came to my senses

turns out after i told them, the nurse didn't think it would stop anything......and the surgeons office called to tell me she would talk to the doctor and if it has to be postponed she would call back, if not she would not call...............well.......no call............so everything is on as planned........by the way...my stomach actually fells alot better.......I thought my pains over the last few months was just from eating to much............MI VIDA LOCA............later

Well, its here....................I got a call at work a couple of days ago, the lady asked if this was KEN i said yes, she said when would u like to schedule your surgery...............:) i paused for a minute......uh.......ASAP......lol...............i realy didn't know how to feel.....................i wasn't overly estatic.........just a little smile came to my face...i told the lady i didn't even know they had sumitted my packet for approval..............I was a little shocked the approval went smoothly....(AETNA HMO)....................having waited 3years for this surgery it all becomes slightly sureel........................"SEPT 15",............WOW just 2 weeks away..........and those will be jam packed..................i still have an upper GI to complete in 3 days................i have 2 days of pre-op procedures to do...............not to mention a few things to wrap up at work................................and believe it or not................trying to buy a house in the middle of all this..............its slightly hectic... but i"m enjoying it alittle. I can't wait...i just keep thinking how i will look  and feel 3months post -op.......6months............1year............3years post-op.........how will my life change..............i'm happy

well it has been a while since my last post, i realy only do this at my current work site and i havn't been here in a few months.................in any case i just wrapped up my third and final block of the 3month intensive program with Dr. Korman's office.........there are a few things to take care of before my report can be submitted to the insurance co. for approval or denial.......i have one more medical test to take care of (upper GI), but things have been going fairly smoothly.....i had gained about 5 pounds since my last post, but then joined a gym (GOLDS) and went on a little diet exercise routine for a couple of weeks, surprisingly lost 14 pounds (current weight is 417)............but within the last week or so i have gone back to some old habits, i do want to go back to working out alittle on 08-18......but thats where i stand alot closer to surgery, but not there yet, i will not even begin to get exited until i hear my surgery has been APPROVED.........the last thing i want is to be dissapointed at this point by a denial for some reason.................later....ken
