Hi, AMOS friends. Well, I am officially post-op, having had my surgery on Oct 2, and coming home from the hospital Oct 6. What a wild ride! First, I want to say that I LOVE my surgeon, Dr. Paul Lin and his team of residents/med students were supper. I had the cutest guy, a med student named Justin, who really went the extra mile for me!

The nursing care, however, left ALOT to be desired (this coming from a nurse!). I could go on and on, but let's just say that when I finally lost my cool on Thursday, it wasn't pretty. After waiting through 3 nurses and almost 2 hours I finally decided to remove my own IV (I now have a terribly painful infiltration).......and when the nurse said "Is someone here removing her own IV", I shouted "You go take care of your patients, and I'll take care of mine -- ME -- since no one else is!" I know that was mean, but I was in pain! And this was just one in a long line of complaints I had about the nursing care. I know there are shortages (heck, I work in one, where I sometimes don't eat or go to the bathroom the whole shift!). But they sure had alot of time to sit in their break rooms and talk on the phone! Argh, big griping session here. Sorry!

Anyway, I'm home and happy to report that although I still feel pretty yucky (especially when I drink), I am feeling better every day! One day soon, I hope to say "I'M GLAD I DID THIS".......but not just yet! :0) I am glad, however, to have this site to come to for support; and for my wonderful hubby and mom without whom I would still be pre-op and wishing!
To all those who sent me a little note........thanks! I'll try to respond to each of you personally!
