A long over due 19 months post op update....
Oct 18, 2008
What a busy and fun summer we had. I am sorry I have not updated my profile in months. Well, I am now 19 months post op and doing wonderful. I have reached my doctor's goal weight of 154 and then I reached my personal goal of 150 and I am now weighing in at 144. My surgeon wanted me to maintain weight at 154 so when I get to remove my excess skin I would lose another 10 to 12 pounds. I have a 10 pound cushion that but I lost that already. The doctor says it is because I am still nursing my baby so that is why I am still losing weight. I hope to maintain at this weight I am really comfortable at this size. I feel great!
I do get a few comments like girl you are so skinny don't lose anymore weight or you are going to disappear. lol Can you imagine that? It is has been and still is an amazing journey. I love my RNY!
I have a few pics taken in August, But I do need to take some full length shots to compare with my pre-op pics. I will share as soon as I get some taken.
Here is a couple from August for now.
Big difference from my pre op pic huh?

It has been an amazing year and a half!!!
I am so happy and I feel great. I now weigh 144 pounds. 10 pounds below my doctor's goal. I don't plan to lose anymore weight I have been trying to maintain. I am still nursing my daughter and my doctor believes that is the reason why I am still losing weight.
But all is great and I am healthy!
Thank you all for the support.

Everything has been going great. I can't believe that it has been almost 15 months since I had my RNY. It feels like it was just yesterday. I am down 92 1/2 pounds and I only have 7 pounds left to go. That is my surgeon's goal. I would love to reach 140 but he insists to get to 150 and then later the rest will come off with the extra skin whenever I have that done.
Right now I am enjoying my little girl and I am nursing her so no surgeries anytime soon. She refuses to take a bottle and I don't have the heart to wean her off in the next 3 months or so. I will most likely wait until she turns 1 or 1 1/2 to wean so that I can get ready for the next step in my WL journey.
My one year blood work came back perfect. No deficits anywhere!! Yay!
I take my vitamins religiously.... Please do the same for your sake.
Great news..............
Gino and I are HOMEOWNERS! We purchased a house in Charles Town, WV. It is only 1 hour away from where we live now. So when I am wanting to meet with friends I can always drive back this way.
Also we live 5 minutes from the Charles Town Race Track & Slots so whomever comes into town and wants to visit we would be happy to see you!! lol
Our house is huge 5 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths a huge basement with a rough in for a full bathroom that we will put in sometime next year. The basement is partially finished. The room that is not finished Gino will convert it into an entertainment room.
The house is 4,000 sq ft with a formal living room, family room, den and dining room. the kitchen is pretty and big, the yard is .33 acre so the kids have space to run. We plan to put in an inground pool sometime in the future.
The house is beautiful and we are so in love with it. We can not wait to make this move. We leave on June 21st!!!
In our new master bath..
The kids having fun!!

My 1 year post op Update visit on 04/09/08

I had my one year post op visit with Dr. Von Reuden on April 9th. It was 1 month late but since I had the baby 2 days shy my 1 year surgiversary I had no other but choice to go the next month instead.
Dr. Von Reuden was very pleased with my progress. He was very impressed with the fact that I had become pregnant just 3 months after my GBS and I managed to stay healthy, have a very healthy baby and lose 69% of my excess body weight.
I was thinking he wanted me to reach a goal of 130 pounds. That is the "normal weight" for my height. But I was shocked when my doctor said that all I needed to do was lose another 10 more pounds. He asked me if I was thinking of having my excess skin removed. I ofcourse said yes since I do have a lot of excess skin. He told me he wanted me to maintain my weight after losing the 10 pounds and come back to see him in 6 months and then he can refer me to see a plastic surgeon. I am now weighing 162 pounds losing the 10lbs will bring me to 152. I told him that I want to get to 150 pounds and he said ok but not to lose more than that because when I have the excess skin removed I will have another 10 to 12 pounds that will be taken off and that should leave me at about 140 pounds by then. He does not want me to weigh less than that because he says he wants me to be at a healthy weight. I was beyond thrilled with my visit!!!
He congratulated me for doing so good despite of getring pregnant 3 months post op.
Hurray!!!!!!! I am so proud of myself!!!
Thank you following my journey and thank you for those that has always supported me throughout this entire time. I am eternally grateful for all my blessings.
Hugs,
Cira

My grand daughter was born today April 7th at 4:39 AM
7 lbs 8oz 19 inches long!!
My son Emmanuel says the baby looks like her Momma. But Momma says she looks like Her Daddy so I guess I will have to see it for myself!
lol
I can't wait to see pictures of my precious grand daughter. Who would of thought that I would be a grandma for the 3rd time. I can't wait to see her so I can love on her. I never understood how much you could love a grandchild so much until I had mine. It is such an amazing feeling. My heart feels so full I just can not put it into words.
Thank you Jesus for all my blessings.
